I picked up a nice, used, one owner is250 and there are some minor swirls and holograms around the the vehicle. I was just wondering what would be the best combo of polish and pad to use with my PC to correct the paint. Also, what good interior cleaner for the leather and headliner. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated!

Start with a test spot with M205 and LC orange pad. If that doesn't work, try UC or M105 on the orange pad. Then finish out with M205.

You didn't mention what (if any) pads/products you already have, so I'm assuming you already have ^ those, or are able to buy them.

Sorry I completely forgot. I have triple of all the all the LC smooth pads and the Wolfgang series products. Just didn't wanna use anything without asking first

On a black Lexus I would start with a white pad and finishing glaze since that is what you had. Better to start not aggressive enough and step it up from there than to start too aggressive and risk marring the paint.

Congrats on picking up a very nice car. I have a 2001 IS300 and I love it and it has over 200,000miles.

To answer you question, it sounds like you have what you need. I don't know the LC pads, but let's just be generic here and say start with the light polish pad and the Wolfgang Swirl Remover if you have it.

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0, car polish, polishing compound

If that does not get you the results, you can go to a more aggressive pad and stick with the SR or go up to the compound if you have it.

Wolfgang Uber Compound, car polish, polishing compound

You say it has minor swirls and holograms which leads me to believe that the first combo I mention will give you outstanding results. For added affect, go to the lightest pad and polish you have and go over the hood, top and front fenders with it after removing the swirls to really get the areas to pop, then be sure to seal them off which a good wax or sealant.

Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0, Wolfgang finishing polish, polising glaze, machine glaze

HUMP

Thanks for all the info guys!!! Been a lot of help!! Hopefully when it stops raining in Houston I can wash, clay, and them test spot. Will comment back with results.

^This... Lexus Obsidian Black is quite soft. You'll be surprised at the amount of correction you can get with a polishing pad and finishing polish with proper technique. If you go too aggressive you will leave yourself with a bunch of marring and you'll just be making the job harder than it needs to be

Agreed.

Lexus Obsidian Black is some of the softest, most finicky paint I have dealt with. I recently completed an IS 250 that responded very well to M205 and MF finishing pads. Some really bad areas were compounded with M100 then stepped down to M205. Everything was finished with CarPro Reflect.

I hate to be a bother but when you have time could you please link the products?

Appreciate it guys. Any suggestions for cleaning the headliner?

Headliner: APC diluted to interior strength (for example Blackfire APC @ 1:10). Spray onto a vent brush and lightly agitate. Blot with a dry MF towel. Wet a MF towel with water and blot again to remove any remaining APC residue. Blot again with dry MF

What is the theory on starting with an Orange Pad and M205?

What do you mean by, "If that doesn't work, try UC or M105 on the orange pad"?

What pad do you suggest he use to "finish out" with M205?

Follow this advice

so would you guys recommend using the white pad or the microfiber pad with the finishing glaze?

Wolfgang Finishing Glaze is often used with a Black Pad.

I have also had success using it with a Blue Lake Country CCS pad.

Idk if you guys can see the very minor scratching but will the process above remove it as well?
