I had previously relied on glazes to get a nice result. I didn't have the time to correct all at once. Then, two things happened: (1) I verified that I could correct in a piecemeal manor ( I corrected the car over the week, working on it at night) and (2) a member suggested I try Optimum Hyperpolish. For LSP, I wanted to try PNS/BSD combo..I'm not ready for coating (too heavy handed) and this seemed like the next best step. Here's my process and results...comments/critique welcomed (I want to get better).
Car- 2012 Alpine White M3 convertible
Wash- (1st to strip) CG wash and gloss 1:1 dilution, IronX, then re-wash [wheels/metal) CG diablo with wheelwoolies/speedmaster, ironx, then rewash with megs gold class (Tires/undercarriage) CG Orange degreaser then megs GC with tire brush
Decontamination- Nanoskin DA pad and hand sponge for tighter spots or problem areas.
Correction- OPT Hyperpolish, 7424XP with Cyan and tangerine pads (depending on level of correction). Also, used the SMACK technique (Thanks Mike)
Protection- Sonax PNS (used Evan's technique of applying with MFT)
Topper- Sonax BSD
Trim- TW Endurashine Tire and PNS to seal

Lessons:
- to make white look better, contrast is key: make the black as dark as possible and white as light as possible. Thanks Mike Phillips
-SMACK technique is versatile i.e. can be used for more than just Menz products. Thanks Mike
- OPT Hyperpolish is great! This is especially true for newbies. EASY to use, can alter the amount on correction needed based on the pad, no dust, and finishes LSP ready. Thanks Derrick aka Blown03
- Sonax PNS/BSD are not hard to work with. Evan's technique makes it easy. I actually purchased the applicator and it didn't work nearly as well as the 800gsm towel. However, I do think you will use a bit more product.
-The Nanoskin skin DA pad is EASY to use. Apply just enough pressure to keep machine spinning and if there's a stubborn spot, use the Nanoskin sponge.

Looks great. I like the glossy look I get with PNS/BSD on my Alpine White as well.

Looks great. I agree, hyper polish is good stuff.

As it stands, I can't see why you would do a two step correction unless the paint is in really bad shape. With Hyperpolish, just change the pad depending on the level of correction.

Looks amazing! Good looking "crew" as well. The little guy looks bigger than your avatar pic!

Thanks! he's about a year older...growing up detailing LOL. The avatar pic, I didn't know any better and he had a "workhorse" MFT just scratching the heck out of the paint. Now, he and my daughter have a couple of 800gsm that can't cause any damage.

I don't really care what he's using...it's freakin' adorable and love it every time i see it!

Looks great man!!!.... PNS is AMAZING stuff and looks awesome on white.... I loooove
Washing my car and watching the water just run off the paint

Wow beautiful work good sir! Your Alpine white M3 looks fantastic now.

Thanks for following about about the technique being used with different polishes. Good to hear it worked out.

Thanks for taking the time to put together and share. Don't hesitate to ask further questions.

It rained REALLY hard on the way to work and my hood was damn near dry and tight beading on the roof. I'm impressed with PNS/BSD combo.

Beautiful car. I love the E92's and at some point plan to get one. How do you like the hardtop convert?

@KMG
Love the HT. Yeah, its a little more weight, but worth it.

Anyone here think I could have gotten better results with two step correction? In the summer, I plan on trying BF Wet fire Over Ice combo. Thoughts? Is is it a waste of time on white?
