I want to give a big thanks to Kevin Brown (Buff Daddy) for his advices and for sending me a couple of washer mods from US to Canada. I was in the middle of correcting a heavily scratched silver Hyundai and I was doing too many passes in order to get correction which then I decided to pause and went back to the drawing board. My local shops have many washers to choose from and I had purchased about 6 different ones hoping I can shave off the edges and get them to fit.. no luck there and I gave up the pursuit 8 months ago. My first solution was to ask an expert and I decided to email Kevin Brown. His communication was prompt and professional. Kevin Brown offered to send me the washers free of charge and advise me to try a different approach with M205 + Rupes + MF Pads. I cannot thank him enough for generosity so I'm putting up a show n shine thread to show the results of his advice!

Mail arrived about 2-3 weeks after talking with KB

The silver Hyundai is a good friend of mine and he did not mind waiting so while his car is on hold, I decided to give the washer mod a test run:

2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe wrapped in gloss lime green vinyl

This car was originally black and the owner decided not to wrap the side mirrors and roof top. He wanted the expose paint to be corrected and opti-coat'ed for long term protection. No problem!

Process:
Wash Method with ONR
Clay with ONR + Nanoskin Towel - Fine Grade
Inspect with Fenix Tactical Flash Light
Polish with Rupes green foam pad + HD Polish /w Rupes 15ES and Rupes Mini
IPA Wipe + CarPro Eraser for final wipe down
Opti-coat /w yellow foam pad

Prior to this genesis coupe I had corrected a red genesis coupe and I found the green pad with HD polish worked really well. Knowing that I now have a washer mod to increase the performance on my Rupes 15ES, I decided to give this combo for the test spot.

First time working in a shop (luckily for me it was available on a Sunday)

Trying hard to capture befores, especially for the roof

Thoughts on the washer mod
I need more time using it on different panels on different cars before I can give a refined feedback but from initial testing, I'm quite impressed. The pads don't get boggle down when I put on pressure and the pads continue to spin when I tilt the polisher on an angle. For paint with deep scratches I usually have to bust out the MF pads but I found the Rupes green pad gave about 95% correction after 8 passes. The issue I find with Rupes green pad is it does not give 100% surface contact when its hard and dry. I would need to soak it in water, spin out the water, dry the pad then put it on the polisher. This way the pad is dry but also softer and will make 100% surface contact when I move the polisher around.
