2013 M-B C300 Polar white - clearcoat or not?

95% chance it's a clear coat considering they don't in the states make cars without clear on it. does that help?
 
They do make cars in the US that are single stage, garanteed. Toyota is one of them.
 
My how-to book explains in detail how to test for white single stage paint as it's a little different and more tricky then testing a colored single stage paint.

It's on page 9 of the new second edition and probably around page 9 in the first edition.

More than likely a SS paint system.

However, if in doubt about the above charts reliability:

Perform the "Test Spot" with your Menzerna compound/polish(es) using a dark-colored
applicator/MF towel and look for White paint transference.


NOTE: The Red asterisks (**) designate the differences between Charts I & II.

Thanks, if you mean the Art of Detailing, I admit I do but have not read that part. I will take this as a 'must do' and will tonight!
