Nothing mayor just a few pictures. After I took these pictures, and the car/trim/glass was coated, these wheels came off, (winter set) cleaned and coated along with the summer setup and calipers.

Quick & Easy wash
Nano towel
compunding step
polishing step
IPA wipe
Opti Guard (15cc)

WOW, love the gorgeous job you did on the BMW. That white really shines and now it's protected....wheels and all!! :props:

so you use IPA to wipe down as an OC prep? Somewhere on this forum someone said it "swells" the paint when you use IPA as a prep? I've been reading mixed (prep reviews) about prepping for OC. Can you verify that IPA is suffice for OC prep please

Nice looking finish, those rims came out amazing.
What polish prior to the Opti Gard?

Nice ride man! Great job!

Wanting to know this also

I have read that if you use optimum's polishes, you can simply wipe the panels with water and a microfiber towel to be ready for opti-coat.

If you use other polishes they recommend to use a 15% IPA solution prior to applying the opti-coat.

yea i have also read that as well, i also read that using ONR to prep is good way to go. i just read so many different things that i just wanna make sure the OC bonds correctly

That is such an awesome car. The wheel barrel look better than new. Great job.

Hi guys!

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.

Much appreciated.

I used polishes that autogeek doesn't sell and I can't mention them. No biggie.

Yes I use IPA to clean the paint prior to applying OG. That is what is suggested by Optimum, although I used between 30-50% solution instead of the 15% recommended. If you use Optimum polishes, you can use ONR to prep the surface. DO NOT just use plain water.

The wheel you see in the thread was used only for a month (1000+ miles) before the owner put on another set (the ones on the car) that I didn't take pictures of due to being late by the time I cleaned & coated them. What I am trying to say is that I can't really take credit for how 'new" they look. They are new! :)

Although I was surprised how dirty they were - way more so then the set that had 3 months worth of contamination on them.

The wheels (both sets) were cleaned with:

Meg's degreaser
Quick and easy wash
Dodo Juice Tar remover
IPA
OG

What brand polishes do you use?
