New client came to me with his nearly brand new 2014 Dodge Charger. Still with temporary tags in place, the dealership had 'detailed' the car for him and well, you know the story.

Possibly one of the worst hack jobs I've seen. They spared the trim (usually also part of the destruction) but the paint was just a mess. Rotary buffer trails everywhere, swirl marks, and overall just lack of gloss.

2 step correction with D300 followed by Menzerna Power Finish

Vehicle was then protected with Opti-Coat Pro

Holy Cow!!! This car has all the options ..... including the DISO (dealer installed swirl option)

Thank goodness Mr. Sparkle comes to the rescue. That is dripping wet!!!

Nice work! Did you find dodge paint to be super hard? I did a 2012 Challenger last weekend and found it to be quite hard.

Excellent work! I hope they got rid of the guy at the dealership that hacked up the charger!

Nice work getting the DISO out!!! I cant believe a dealer would actually let a car leave in that condition...

Thanks everyone! The owner was thrilled

not really. if anything on the soft side but not terrible. but this was a 2014. They may have changed the paint since 2012. and really every car is different. you never know.

Excellent job. :dblthumb2: That brand new car was in pitiful condition.

In Brazil, we generally would say after seeing a thread/result like this:

Wow, you 'Killed the snake and showed the stick'!

**the stick that was used to 'kill the snake'

Apart from any verbal misinterpretation, someone chiming in defense of the snakes, or anyone saying you can show a stick and actually have 'not killed the snake', this (in my country) literally means:

You've done an awesome work and it's evident so you are showing and proving it leaving any doubt behind.

... and so you said 'There are no buffer trails in this dojo'.

Congratulations on this one, and thanks for sharing.

Kind Regards.

I enjoy brazilian bbq, and now this new phrase I've learned. thank you

I'd say that car had DIHO (Dealer Installed Holograms Option)

Great work on the correction! :xyxthumbs:

How does a dealership manager allow a car looking like this move off the lot into a customers hands. The manager along with the 'detailer' should be sent to kick rocks. There is no way they could have thought that looked better than before or even looked OK for that matter. Shaking my head...

You did a great job fixing the foul-up.

the problem is that these defects are not visible at all under fluroscent lighting. Only direct sunlight or halogen / LED. I use LED floodlights with the fluros off. Under these conditions its obvious as you see. Most shops (detailing, body shops, dealerships) only use fluros.
