A member over on Autopia coached me up on this new combo as I have never used any of the PB line. He answered my endless questions and I am beyond pleased with the results.

I wanted something effective and quick to clean up my Jeep that I use for business. I have very little time these days so no time to do weekend marathon detailing sessions. HD Speed on a tangerine hydrotech pad has been my “go to” combo for cleanups and freebies. I think I found a replacement, as least for darker vehicles.

For a one stepper on dark vehicles, this kicks butt. Pair these new Uro-Fiber pads ( I used a long throw DA ) with PWC blue and you can move quickly around your vehicle and remove/fill a fair amount of minor defects and produce a significant gloss. I did two fairly quick passes and that was it. Now to be honest, I couldn’t resist trying my new Natty’s waxes I just bought, so I used Natty’s red to top it. OK, this job was no longer a true one step but this stuff goes on easy and comes off even easier. I could have easily lived without the topper, but the Natty’s sure gave it some serious extra pop.

I’m not a huge fan of carnauba based products as I live in hot AZ and this is a DD that gets a lot of use. However, we are finally entering our cool weather and the reality is my paint is usually getting some type of spray wax after washes or I use a WW or RW that has wax in it.

Here are a few pics. Sorry for the poor quality iphone pics as they don’t come close to doing justice. I wasn't even planning to take pics but when I pulled the car out this morning I was amazed how it looked and felt compelled to post this up. This was from early this morning so the lighting was difficult. I still need to properly clean the wheels/tires and trim, but you get the idea.

And here is a closeup if that helps.

A few disclaimers… I am not a pro. I am an enthusiast that has been detailing for eight years and actively keeping up and learning by experimenting and reading these forums. This is just my experience relative to what I’ve done in the past and I wanted to pass it along.

This Jeep has metallic granite paint. It seems fairly hard and resists swirls and is not finicky at all. The Jeep was not in terrible condition but it had gone through our hot summer with various storms and had several improper washings and general neglect. I did pull out the LED lights to check for defects and was pleasantly surprised at the finish.

I have not yet tried this on pure black paint yet to see how clean this finishes down. In all fairness, Speed on these pads did very well too. A different look and hard to explain, but pretty good nonetheless, but PWC Blue edged it out in my opinion. On lighter vehicles I will continue to use Speed.

I also tried out D166 with these pads. Cut was very good but I couldn’t get the gloss the other two gave me.

I also bought some Natty’s black. Can’t wait to try this combo out on a black vehicle.

Well, so much for me paring back on my detailing products this year!

Looks nice! Great work!! I forget, where in AZ did you say you were?

RE:

Remember, The Ark was built by an enthusiast, The Titanic was built by pro's.... :)

haha! I like the comment about the Ark! I'm right down the road from you in Scottsdale. Hey, if you've never tried this combo and want to, feel free to borrow mine to test it out.
