Hi friends
Greetings from across the pond.
I was asked to detail a 4 x 4 Nissan by friend’s buddy. We set a date but finally did it on new year’s eve.
This is the ride:
The ride is less than a year old. And its color has been changed from black to red by the local Nissan dealer upon request of the owner. The big problem is that the new paint system on this car has a wrong mix of chemicals + wrong techniques resulting in poor adhesion. One would say a “single-stage paint in 2014” or simply put “water colors”.
We were on December 31st. I had to complete the whole job in a day or risk coming home next year.
Letting the pics speak:
Sorry no before pics. I was afraid I would not complete this job in a day.
Wash
Ride was decontaminated prior to claying….. Iron fallout, tree sap, bugs all found on this lovely baby.
Notice the “water color” effect.
Paint coming out. the clay changing to pink.
Rinsed before the fun part :buffing:
OMG!
