2015 Dodge RAM 1500 Black on Black ~ HDCUT ~ WGDGPS

The wife of a military guy on sea duty contacted me about getting her husband’s truck straight before he got home. For a 1yr old truck, the paint was in poor shape. Her primary concern was a deep scratch he knew nothing about. Seems an umbrella attacked the driver’s door. :-)

As always, I under promise and try to over deliver. I emphasize the scratch is pretty deep and I may not be able to get it all out, but improve the appearance.

However, the truck had numerous scratches. Also, it seems the owner washed it often with something very abrasive. She said he washed it by hand all the time. Swirls were all over this truck.

The interior was dirty with some chocolate milk stains from their child, but not terrible. However, there was a strong smell of spoiled milk in the cab.

There was a high chance of rain in the forecast. After washing, I decided to start on the worst scratches in case I couldn’t polish later. This was a good decision as it started to drizzle/light rain as soon as I finished off the two worst eyesores. I was able to complete the interior. The next day we had a hurricane scare. Had her take the truck back to her place. I completed it a week later…

She was very happy with the outcome and gave me the best tip I’ve gotten yet. I’ll be doing her Ford Focus (also black).

This was paint transfer…

Random pics of issues…

The wheels had scratches, some too deep to remove…

The truck was hit in the rear…

Wow nice job. What product did you use to get the deep scratches out?

That is a fine looking truck, beautiful job!

Looks great! What was your total time?

I was going to mention that as I'm always curious about time spent.

Total time on vehicle was appx 17hrs over 2 days. About 10hrs polishing and 6hrs interior with the balance being other stuff.

I wouldn't mind getting some darn mini's or little 2 seaters like a Miata once in a while. Colors other than black and white would be nice too! :)
