Such a rewarding colour. A workmates son bought one in the same colour, he got it with the optional sports bucket seats, the side bolsters were so prominent and narrow I couldn't sit back in the driver's seat.

Fun bit of trivia. That color is called Lapiz Blue. It's proprietary to VW (no other VAG brand can use it), and it has only been used on Golf R's over the years. Similar to how Subaru will only use World Rally Blue on WRX's and BRZ's...except Subaru has actually trademarked WR Blue since they've used it on their rally cars for decades.

I'd love to have a Golf R in my garage.

That is a nice blue.

Car looks great. I also like the added touch of having matching blue brake calipers on it.

Interesting. I didn't realize VW was now using Lapis blue beyond the Golf R.

Just did a quick 10-seconds of research and it looks like the exclusive use on the Golf R is only in the US. VW uses it on other models in other parts of the world.
