Anyone know the difference between Meguiar's #9 swirl remover 2.0 and 205? Both have the same aggressiveness, just wondering what makes 205 worth so much more. Thanks for any info :xyxthumbs:

i think 205 is a non-deminishing abrasive? not a 100% tho

yes thank you for clearing it up 8) 205 is more cause non-deminishing and longer work time 8) maybe others can chime in for things i have missed 8)

Interesting :) Although I've never had problems pulling out swirls with the 2.0, before it felt over worked :) Before i buy another gallon I'll see what some other thoughts are :) Thanks for the info so far!

Do you think 205 would cut enough to remove a an Audi clearcoat or is 105 necessary?

In most cases, the M205 will give you more cut while stilling being a finishing polish...

M09 = DAT - Diminishing Abrasive Technology
M205 = SMAT - Super Microscopic Abrasive Technology

Will it remove defects by itself out of an Audi clear coat?

Maybe...

  • Depends on how polishable the paint is
  • Depends upon the skill of the user
  • Depends upon the tool you're using

I have a link to my list of article in my Signature Line and here are two articles from that list...
