nick at ag asked that i give an appraisal on the new optium pads when i ordered them. previously i had tried megs same product for some time.

cutting/polishing on both were about the same but where optium really shined was after repeated usage these new pads showed no tendency to delaminate as the megs product did. to me this means much longer life to the product. i do use other megs products which are great.

i use these pads primarily with mez micro polish to keep micro marring in check on my wifes 07 black mb mostly in tight areas where a larger pad cant do its work.

hope this helps.

pc xp. dont know what bp is but im guessing its pc speed. i apply at 4 and polish/jewel at 6. let me know if you need more info.

...do you really need speeds 4 and 6 with the smaller pads? I get good rotation (and cut) on the Megs DA MFs 5.5" pads at 4 and 5, and with the 3" pads at 3½-4 and 4½-5. Maybe you're overheating them?

bp is backing plate

is the machine stable with the small pad setup? Mike said it might be tippy and was going to test it.
