3" sanding disks

i purchased the 3M headlight restoration kit at the local store and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find 3" sanding disks like the ones that come with the kit.

Just talked to Jason, we just brought in the 3" 3M sanding discs for headlights and we'll be bringing in the Meguiar's sanding discs.

The 3M discs should be on the website next week sometime and able to be ordered.

:)

Alright! Thank you Autogeek!
(The only BS Store around here has horrible customer service, and prices are 2x what they should be if you don't buy in volume).

can someone answer my question above?

and are the same ones that come in the headlight kit????

i really wanna know the answer so i can add them to my next order.

Just my opinion,
I think the P3000 is too aggressive for headlight.
it says on the instruction, its for removing sanding marks grit 1000 or finer.
Does your headlamp made out of glass or plastic?
if its made out of glass, you should just buy glass sanding disc 3" griot garage and use glass compound such as diamonte glass revitalizing creme.

this entire post is all about plastic headliights.

the P3000 is perfect. Considering i use the 800 before that. so it wouldnt be too aggressive. i have never had ANY problem with it when i use the P3000 that comes in the headlight kit.

it says hook and loop... are they still the velcro style 3" pads like in the headlight kit?

Hook and loop is just another name for velcro. Those discs should work fine. They are probably the same discs that came in your kit, but in bulk size.

These discs look like they are foam backed. Are the discs that came in your kit foam backed? If they are not, that may be the only difference from the discs that came in your original kit.

Edit: I just looked at the 3M Headlight Restoration Kit description on AutoGeek's site and it lists P3000 Trizact Foam discs in the description, so they should be exactly the same.

woohoo!!!

i can honestly say that the 3000 grit foam disks from the 3M kit are 100 times better than the 3000grit foam disks from the link i posted to the off-site ones. I was using them this weekend on my truck after i removed the pinstriping and they took FOREVER to do what the 3M disks took only a few minuited.
