Can 303 aerospace protectant be used on exterior trim parts? I'm new to detailing.

Yes it can, I've used it on rubber and plastic trim, it doesn't really hold up well when it rains tho.

I see Wolfgang and Ultima exterior trim sealant recommended for that task.

Product Description
Simply spray or wipe the 303 Aerospace Protectant on any vinyl, rubber, plastic and leather surface and you'll instantly have a richer looking finish with valuable UV protection. The superior protection this product provides is critical to the long term care of your vehicle. The 303 Protectant is great to use on your vehicle's rubber (tires, seals, hoses), vinyl (dashboard, doors, armrests, interior and exterior trim, engine casings, convertible tops), plastic (car bras, gauges, grills, trim, convertible's soft windows), leather (seats, trim) and so much more. This versatile product gives all of these surfaces valuable conditioners and protection that will keep each surface looking new and fresh for years to come with regular treatments. The tires, leather seats, exterior trim and dashboard often get prolonged exposure to harmful UV rays so it's important to thoroughly protect those surfaces. Keeping your interior looking clean and dust free can be challenging, but the 303 Protectant is up to the challenge. Applying the 303 Protectant to your dashboard, arm rests, seats and doors will help repel dust, dirt and human oils from collecting. Many other dressings are oily and greasy which can actually attract dust and dry out the surface. Any surface you apply Aerospace Protectant to will leave behind a beautiful matte finish. For best results just apply one nice thin coating and you'll instantly notice the beautiful finish it leaves behind!

That's awesome. My frost bottle was just delivered to my house. I cannot wait to get home tonight and try it out!!

303 is best used on interiors IMO, I use PERL for all my exterior trim and its the best bang for your buck I believe, especially since it can be diluted to your liking

It's best for interiors only, doesn't last very long at all on exteriors, and especially not if it rains or gets wet some other way, I've noticed it streak.

Just detailed this one yesterday and used 303 on the running boards

Did it make the running boards extra slippery? Everytime I do mine, I have to make sure to tell people to be careful getting in as they tend to get slick.

This.....plus 303 will run/streak in the rain.

Running boards were fine, not slippery or anything. The guy wanted it even though I offered opti-bond. He says it's his favorite. I said there's always something better

It can be used on trim, but like others have said there is stuff that lasts longer. I've never had an issue with it streaking as long as you buff off the excess after application like the directions tell you to. I use it on my boat seats and top along with my convertible top that are "exterior" pieces

My wife insists on 303 on her Denali running boards BECAUSE its not slippery. I've compared it to PERL @ 1:3 and it seems to easily last just as long. (FWIW, PERL @ 1:1 is just too shiny.)

Now I also use UTTGP or WGTS (which I think is pretty much the same thing, just at a LOT higher price) works great on running boards. She may end up with that on them as its not really 'slick', just that its slicker than 303. Do use in on all the other trim, rear bumper and roof rack rails.

I love the stuff under the hood, but on outside trim I have seen it run quite badly in first rain. I prefer something like the new products from CarPro and Gtechnic for outside trim specifically.

x1... this

Works awesome underhood too :props:

I have used a ton of different trim products on my truck. I'm a big fan of 303 for the interior but not the exterior. The first rain it runs off everything and down the paint. The only thing so far that I absolutely love Is Ultima tire and trim guard plus. No running at all and holds up very well!!

I used 303 on the interior last night. Wiped it on, then wiped off before it dried. Great look on the seats. No shine. Not slippery. Just a nice natural look. Great product.

I use Wolfgang trim sealant and then I touch it up after washes with 303. The car never sees rain or I wouldn't do it for the same reasons mentioned in earlier posts
