Any of you guys permanently leave the handle off of your 3401?

I have broken about three of these already. I love the feel of the handle, but the two tiny notches that hold it in place to the plastic head cover are extremely thin and undersized. Any time you use good correction pressure and lean on the handle, you are risking of bending those bottom notches. Doing so will result in the handle being flimsy and moving freely up and down.

The remedy is to press on the handle part that's closer to the head, but if they designed it right, this wouldn't be a problem.

Have you made sure those bolts are torqued down to German specs? = Gut en Tight? You can really torque down on those bolts to keep that handle taught.

It came with a handle?

I ordered the handle, but never used it. It's very comfortable using the bale handle (think that's what you call it).

I never use the handle. I just use that overhang off the front.
