3in foam pads/mf pads

Is 3in foam pad/mf pad still necessary for a pillars, bumpers etc? Or 4in will do?

Is 3in foam pad/mf pad still necessary for a pillars, bumpers etc? Or 4in will do?

4" are usually too wide from all portions of the A or B Pillars.

If you have any type of plastic trim on either side of the pillars then even 3" can be too big and you risk getting compound, polish or wax residue onto the trim.

3" are handy to have, especially with a rotary buffer but not a necessity if you already have 4"


I like them.

I purchased some 3 inch Opt. MF pads recently. I don't know how I polished without them. They are very nice to have, just be careful because they do build up more heat because of the small surface area.
