Major fail on my part. I thought i watched enough YouTube videos, but I just couldn't get it to stick past the first tack spot.

First I compounded (M105) out most of the deep scratches from shoes and the door seals, then polish (M205), then cleaning polish (McKee's Coating Prep Polish).

I was able to get the first flat area to tack but I could never get the vertical or curves to stick, no matter how much squeeging I did.

I got frustrated, pulled the strip off and hit the area with BDWD sealant that is on the rest of the trruck.

Any suggestions on getting it to stick on the curves?

What are you using for your slip solution? Did you prep the surface with alcohol?

I used baby soap and water for slip.

I did not do an alcohol wipe as I thought the McKee's Coating prep polish is supposed to leave a bare paint surface... Maybe the McKee's didn't remove all the polishing oils from the Meguiars compound & polish?

Try to prepping surface with a clean alcohol first

I have a bottle of 91% Isopropyl alcohol. What dilution ratio would you use?

Your slip solution should be a small amount of baby shampoo to warm water. You can adjust the mixture. With the slip solution sprayed on the painted surface and the back side of the PPF. Lay the film down if your slip mixture is correct it will move around. Now spray some slip on top of the PPF to lube your squeegee. Start at the top and tack PPF to position it. Your tack solution is 10% alcohol to water. I use 70% alcohol. Try it a few times.

Ok 91 is good to prep. Use 5% for your tack. Straight 91 will make the adhesive to hot and fail

Ok. Thanks! I'll try it again next weekend and report back.
