3M Eraser Wheel: Awesome Product

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado in really good shape. When I bought the truck in 2011 it came with these door moldings, but they looked really discolored and I wasnt really a fan of them. Found some posts online about the 3M Eraser Wheel, and it made the process of removing the adhesive easy. On to some photos.

I was able to take off any residual adhesive with Meg's APC.

Great job. Make sure you put a sealant / wax on the area to protect the area.

The price on those things made me tough it out with a plastic razor blade and steam when I removes my pinstripe

Yours was a much bigger job and well worth the investment

Some people actually pay a premium for that Denali trim

Great job. I too am a fan of the 3M eraser wheel when needing to remove a lot of pin striping, adhesive, etc.

Be careful on plastic panels.

Great review, I'm always concerned of removing those things on cars to realize after it can potentially leave permanent marks.

In your opinion, your removal results was 90-95 or 100%? Please, don't need to be modest, if it was 100% don't hesitate to inform. Looks a success, and great from here.

Anyone already removed those moldings and realized the marks were permanent?

Some customers always asks me to remove a strip or a molding, but like I've said I'm very concerned about what may be left after removal and prefer not to risk.

Is the 3M wheel fundamental, or a tar / adhesive remover will also do the trick?

Any opinions would be highly appreciated.

There is still some elbow grease you have to put in after using the wheel. I got 99% of the stuff off, IMO it worked really well.

It was actually quite fun using it, i even took off all the emblems on the tailgate to.
