I was surfin the web yeaster day and i ran across something interesting, its called 5 star shine, here, i copied some stuff from their site, it seems pretty interesting.

"From technology proven in the aerospace industry comes a paint protection system guaranteed to protect your car's finish for 5 years and keep it incredibly clean. 5 Star Shine's patented two step PPS technology took its inventer over a decade to develop and patent (patent # 5,081,171). In fact, 5 Star Shine's PPS technology is the only paint protection system ever awarded a patent by the U.S. Government and used by the US Navy.""5 Star Shine's PTFE has been used in the U.S. space program since the program's infancy. When astronaut Neil Armstrong took his first moon walk in 1969, PTFE was used in the space suits, blankets, heat shields and cargo hold liners of the lunar lander. PTFE is one of the most protective coatings known to man. PTFE is inert to virtually all chemicals and is considered the most slippery material in existence. It provides superior protection against all types of chemical damage to your paint and even repels water and dirt from sticking. The end result is a deep, beautiful shine that stays incredibly clean. When washing is needed you can simply rinse dirt away with a hose!" "Is approved by Rolls Royce International and used by the U.S. Air Force and the Lear Jet Corporation…"
"For years, the Navy had a problem keeping their Aegis radars clean in the harsh environments they operate in. Soot from the exhaust stacks was a particular problem and the location of these radars made cleanings difficult and dangerous. Once the Aegis radars were treated with 5 Star Shine, the soot buildups were drastically reduced and when cleanings were required they were far easier for the sailors. To date, the Navy has saved thousands of man hours since treating the fleet with 5 Star Shine."We are proud to announce that 5 Star Shine is being used now on such great Navy ships as, the USS McFaul, USS Monterey, USS Ross, USS Arleigh Burke, USS Cape St. George, USS Blue Ridge, USS Mitscher, USS Shoup, USS Stethem and many others!"

Wash your vehicle thoroughly then repeat using our 5 STAR SHINE Polarizing Wash. Let the paint air dry. Rinse Step #1 off the car and dry thoroughly. This opens the paint's pores and puts a positive charge on the surface.

It seems to me that they have the credit to back their product. I think it is worth a closer look.

Hum, i dont think i am breaking any rules, am i?

2 friends of mine obtained top protection and durability with this product. I'll check it also.

the thing i dont get is how does that wash give the car body a negative charge?

I would error on the side of caution in future ... you basically pasted a competitors product in true advertisement form on this forum.

This product comes up every so often, and sold on Ebay. Its nothing more than a paint sealant. Think Klasse SG ... not all that special and nobody who's tried it got anywhere near 5 years of protection.

Have you tried the product killr?
A good friend of mine is trying it and the results are impressive. His car worn before Klasse SG (around 20 coats) for a long time, but he says that this product is much better for protection, water repellency, etc...
Trust me that my purpose isn't to create some polemic, I just want to see the results with my own eyes and then decide if the product works.

several on corvetteforum did .... 'bout a year back when GLARE was also the hottest thing going. I excluded myself as aligned with AG and did not want to create issue.

running 20 coats of anything ain't gonna win any awards either !

Then I'm a bit strange... I only give my opinion about a product if I try it. And I tried lots and lots of paint sealants, waxes, etc...

Doesn't RR use Swissvax?

Sounds sketchy to me, I would be pretty supprised if it did work.

I can assure you I have tried many, and align myself with many professional detailers with similar and honest reviews, guys that are straight. You might want check out CG and a product called Jet-seal (sound like 5 Star) and Wet Mirror (Glare) ??

last year , my personal stash !

Some guys on other forums used 5 Star and if I recall barely lasted close to a year as they did before and after photos towards the end. Highly doubt it protects 5 years, can't see that happening no matter what hooplah about the Navy and whatever else using them. Doesn't even look nice, has a sterile blahh look to it. I don't see the point even if it lasted a year....

I bought some long time ago and tried on a panel (was cheap off Ebay) and didn't care for it, it's slick at first but pry has something to do with the teflon crap in it. Put it back on Ebay lol. Redid that panel with "good" products.

Well, I have to update the pics of my collection of products.
I have a sample of Wet Mirror Finish, and it's not the same as Glare, of course. WMF lasts 1-2 weeks, no more, is an AIO type product. Glare is long lasting (not 3 years, of course).
JetSeal 109 doesn't have teflon in its composition.
I'll give my opinion about the product when I try it if you don't matter.

I was going to take a pic of this year, as it now takes up both shelves. I do take an opportunity once a year to toss out a great deal of "bad" products. I also give alot away to friends, and share samples.

As for the comparisions Maesal, it was to show you that more than several items show up at one time that are quite similar. Then some are also reinvented. Glares claim to fame was a "glass" derivative ingredient, so is the Wet Mirror. (Which I have and would not consider an AIO, and dont see any real cleaning ability). Jet-seal is playing on the "plane" industry just like 5 Star, another I have to try do to forum friend. (will this rain ever stop ??)

Did I ever tell you guys that Captain Max sent some Wolfgang to Cape Canaveral to use on the shuddle ?? ;) ;) ;)

How did you checked if WMF cleans? Yes, I tried and it cleaned. I don't know if it cleaned because of its solvents in its composition or because of its high viscosity.
Yes, I know about WMF, Glare, Fireglaze, etc... and GlassPlexin, and I know detailers who really likes Fireglaze, and detailers very famous around the world, not novices. I don't like WMF because of its durability and because it doesn't spread well.
