My buddy is going to submit one of his Cougars to Barrett-Jackson for the Scottsdale auction in January. He asked me to clean it up so he could take some pictures to send in with his application.

The car was painted several years ago but had never been polished after the initial cut and buff. It had some light scratches and lots of halos/buffer trails.

Products used:

M105 w/GG orange pad
Groit's Carnuba Stick w/GG red pad
GG Leather Care
DP Interior Surface Protectant
Optimum Power Clean 3:1

Sorry I didn't get any before pictures.

There's nothing like working on a true classic, gorgeous job! :dblthumb2:

Is the finish single stage or a newer base coat clear coat?

It's a 390 4-speed car. The hood scoop is not stock. GT cars did not come with a hood scoop but the GT-E and XR7-G did (both of those are 68 models). You could not get a 429 in a 67-68 Cougar. The engine choices for the first 2 years were 289, 302, 390, 427 & 428, depending on the package.
