Can you use a 7.5 C.C S. pad with a 5" rotary backing plate???
 
Bill you could..but not effectively...you would only have 5 inches of the downward force on the pads surface if you know what I mean....A 6" would be better...

it would be like using a 4" pad for 6" pads..you would not have a large area of downward pressure contact of the pad on the paints surface ..
