So, I am finally getting around to getting some pictures together of the detail I did of the new to me 98 f150 lariat. This was my first detail ever, basically got me into it. My neighbor owns a auto-body / detail shop. So I finally got sick of the nasty look and detailed it with some advice from lurking the forum and his advice.

I used a no name HF rotary with a wool cutting pad along with the Megs #105 then finished off with the 3m Ultra-fine polish with a foam polishing pad. Then I gave it some protection with Collinite 845. I applied the 845 with a microfiber towel then buffed off with one of those round DA polishers LOL. (before I had a PC. )
I hit the headlights with some PlastiX
Then did the trim with some much needed black WOW. This picture was one coat. I have applied a couple more since then.

I don't have many pictures, and definitely not a complete write up, but these are the only pictures I have.

Looks really good.
If you want to get the headlights looking better try to wetsand them then polish them out.
You did good my friend :)

Which HF model did you get?

I'm pretty sure I have the 7" variably speed. My father already had this one from compounding his boat so I just used that with a smaller hook and look backing plate .

And what grit sequence should I use to wet sand? would I need to compound the Polish after sanding?
