98 Saturn

This car has probably seen a few automatic washes in its 9 years. The last time it was waxed was the last week of Never. Needless to say it needed some attention. The owner totally loves her car but does not think to clean it at all. Luckily the interior was not full of garbage it just had some Coke and coffee spills on the carpet. The exterior was flat; that’s best way I can explain it, flat.

Between the XMT360 and the SSII this cars green metallic paint just popped. The owner was so happy all she kept saying was she couldn’t believe that this was her car. Her reaction was well worth the effort that went into this detail.

Here’s the Detail:
Exterior
Wash – DP Xtreme w/foam gun, dry w/Ultimate Guzzler
Clay – Clay Magic Blue with CM Lube
Polish – XMT 360 on CCS Orange Pad w/UDM
Wax – SSII by Hand
Tires – DP Wheel Gel – Black ShMitt, DG 265, Wells - AA Foam
Windows – DP Krystal Vision Glass/WW towel
Diamondite Plasti-Care on lenses
Trim – PB Trim Restorer
Interior
Full Vacuum
Mats – Vacuumed and Folex
Carpet – Folex for Tough Stains
Interior Cleaned with Water/Woolite
DP Surface Protectant
Diamondite Plasti-Care on Lenses

As always your comments and questions are welcome. Thanks for looking.

looks really good Alice :D The paint looks glossy and wet! Very nice. XMT 360 + SSII is a great combo!

Very nice turn around that clay bar must have been garbage by the time you were done claying the entire vehicle huh..

Vehicle looks great, very nice turn around. I always enjoy your posts :D

Thank you for sharing.

Great turnaround, Alice! I can see why the owner was very happy. The paint did look dull, but you brought out the color and shine!
What ratio Woolite/water did you use for the interior?

Great detail! I'm ready to do that exact same car, but in blue, for my wife and hope I can make it look as good as you did when I am done.

My son is getting a '97 Saturn that looks like that, minus the rear spoiler. It's also green. He's getting it on Saturday. I can't wait to get my hands on it! LOL.

Thanks for the compliment. The ratio on Woolite was 10:1 (water to Woolite).

You did a great job on that Saturn! The before and after is an amazing difference. It must have been very gratifying to see it go from lackluster to brilliant! :applause:

Great job Alice :applause:

Do people just show up at your house on the weekends to see if they can get a car detailed :D

I'll be in Chicago this weekend for the IRL race, are you going to the track ?????

Alice, you have looking better than new. Deepness is unreal. I bet it has never look that good:applause:.....
One thing, I would love to see a crocs shot!:D

Great job !!!! Just used XMT360 this weekend didn't get the results you did but I'm learning. I used the LC green pads because my car was new I didn't want to be to aggressive with the paint. It was my first detail. After seeing the SRX Cadillac you did I was impressed. Now I know I need to use the orange pad to get what I want. Thanks for your posts and photo's.

That paint is shining! Looks brand new :D I see those hose blockers! That clay looked poopie lol. I haven't had a clay bar look that bad yet.

Great job Alice :applause:

Sorry Ed, not going to the track. I don't even know where it is I'm not a race fan.:o
Thanks for the compliment. As far as people showing up at my house for a detail, well that would be nice and handy now wouldn't it! It's funny, I'm completely mobile and yet a lot of my customers either opt to drop off or have me pick up their car. Doesn't matter to me as long as I get to detail I'm happy.

I seem to have people show up with a car that will DIE in my driveway, been going on for years :-)))
Or I get a phone call "How hard is it to change a starter"

I love to picture of the clay

Great work Alice, that claying realy gets the paint prepped, love it when i see to dirty claybars..
