Hi all. Just a simple wash and wax preformed on this 911. We also cleaned and sealed the engine bay and polished the tips. Came out looking pretty good. It was my first experience using Collinite 845 and I must say I am quite impressed. Gave the silver paint a nice glow and went on the car really easy. Now its just a waiting game to see how the durability is.

Heres the finished product:

Thanks for looking!

Looks great, love the red S you did out back too, its normally chrome, right? Anyways, durability of #845 is pretty good, I've got all 3 of them (#476, 845 and 915) and each have their own characeristics:

-845 is a combo or looks and durability

-476 is know for long durability, up to 1 yr some have posted here.

-915 is know for its shine and comes pretty close to #476 in durability.

#476 and #915 are both pastes but go on and off as easy as #845 does. Some say #915 is "finicky" but I have never had a problem with ANY of the Collinite tripletts!

Btw, silver with a blue top and those wheels, nice job!

Beautiful Car. Keep up the good work.

Thanks!

How did you clean the tips?

I first scrubbed with a brush to get loose grime off. Then went at it with 0000 steel wool with some ONR as lubrication (I only use this on heavily caked on tips like these). Then followed that up with some P21S Multi Surface Finish Restorer with a drill and a Wheel Woolie. Heres where I got the idea for the drill and Wheel Woolie: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/71565-exhaust-cleaned-polished-wheel-woolies.html

It actually works really well.

Then I followed up with some metal wax.

Thanks! The owner did get the 4 and the S painted after he bought it. He's also thinking about doing the Carrara.

Thanks for the info in the Collinite! :xyxthumbs:

Beautiful work on the 911.

Thanks!

Beautiful work on it. Looks great.

Really like the 50/50 pic on the exhaust. Very creative.

Thanks! I was very please with the way they tips came out. The 50/50 shot really shows you what a little time and effort can do.
