So I recently had picked up Meguiars Heavy Duty Two Step Headlight Restoration Kit ( Meguiars Heavy Duty Two Step Headlight Restoration Kit, Meguiars G3000, headlight polishing kit, severe headlight polishing kit, how to polish ). My headlights had reached the point of being quiet disgusting looking, and I never realized just how simple restoring your headlights could be.

Yesterday, it was beautiful out, so I thought I would give it a go.

The kit comes with everything you need.
1000 Unigrit sanding disc
3000 Unigrit sanding disc
Unigrit hand pad Drill-operated Easy-buff pad
4 oz. PlastX
4 oz. Headlight Protectant
Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel.

I scrubbed clean and dried the headlights. Then used painters taped all around the lights.

You start by using the 1000 grit disc, sanding the light in a horizontal overlapping fashion. Oh and make sure wet the light and paper with water, before sanding.

I then wiped the light down, to remove the gunk leftover after sanding. I then went over the light again with the 1000 grit paper. You probably don't need to do it a second time, but since this was my first time, I wanted to be sure the job was done.

You then proceed to wet the light again and sand with the 3000 grit disc in a overlapping vertical fashion. Again I did this process twice.

After your done sanding the lights will be very hazy, but it should be very uniform. You then connect you easy-buff pad to a drill. I used my cordless drill. I placed a quarter sized amount of PlastX on the pad and spread it all over the light surface. I then began to buff the light. After buffing with the easy-buff, I then went over the light again with some PlastX on a MF for a final buff.

I could not believe the results. Even my wifes eyes about popped out of her head :xyxthumbs:

The kit comes with a headlight protectant, but I already had a open bottle of Wolfgang's headlight sealant. So I applied that.

The kit gives you everything you need to achieve amazing results. And it's really easy to use. I highly recommend it. I give it 5 stars.

Now for some before and after pictures.

The "before" pictures were taken after the lights had been scrubbed and dried.

Thanks for taking the time too look.

Wow! That is very impressive! Great review as well. :props: I'm curious to know how long the WG headlight sealant lasts and I'm also curious about that Meguiar's product. Those before and after shots really hit home.

Thank you.

I'm not sure how long the product lasts. I'll reapply in a month and see how that goes. I've read the Meg's headlight sealant should be reapplied in 6-8 wks.
