So last weekend I had a return client come down 6+ hours from Canada and have me apply Opti-Guard to the rest of this vehicle. Some of you may recall when I detailed this car for him last year. At the time he wasn't really interested in the coating but I decided to coat his bumper cover for him to give him a taste of what this coating can offer. Well after 1 year and the car sitting outside 24/7 it was pretty clear why he called me up. :)

I must first apologize for the poor quality of the video. This was not planned and my Flip was dead and the old iPhone was all I had. After washing the car I simply had to capture what I was seeing with video and share with the rest of the world. :props:

To summarize, the car received a full 2-step polish last June, the entire car was sealed with Blackfire Wet-Diamond, minus the front bumper which received OG. Now I love BFWD, but 1 year, outside 24/7, touch-less washes in the winter....I can't think of any traditional wax/sealant that would hold up well to those condtions.

So after washing the car the below was what I saw during the final rinse! Enjoy! :)

Oops! Mods can you fix my spelling of "testament" in the thread title? :poke::awman:

Ya, I actually had the same experience on a Lexus I did a year ago. It sits outside all the time. Went to preform the summer wash and the water just flowed off it. Its a really amazing product.

How do you keep your customers coming back after you do the coating? I have done about 15 cars so far and a few motorhomes (my shoulder was killing me after that one) but after I do the coating, most people think they don't have to do anything to their cars again. Granted, I'll still come and do the interior and clean the wheels but its a dent in my paycheck by installing the coatings. Instead of getting $250-$300 a pop for a detail, I'm down to $125-$175.

I really try not to push the permanent thing too much and sell it more as a renewable clear-coat. I also tell them they need to be realistic about the their expectations and understand that they will eventually need polishing (unless they wash OCD like we do) and when that time comes they will also have to have me reapply the coating. They still get all the great qualities of the coating though and they are removing less OEM clear in the process this way.

As of right now I have 2 other return clients on the books for a touch up polishing/re-coating...so that makes 3 this summer alone. ;)
