Well guys i have been coming on to the forums here over and over again trying to read up on what you guys like and dislike before I make my first purchase! So here's my list. I'm going to look over this thread until monday and then get what i'm gonna get.I already have the Griot's 6" DA and looking to do a paint correction on my black neon srt-4. The car has been repainted but is in need of some serious help. Swirls and scratches all over the place from a rotary apparently. Guys I'm looking for your opinions so feel free to chime in!!!:dblthumb2: Thanks in advance for any advice you throw my way.Feed back please

1. 5" backing plate
2. Wolfgang Duo
3. M105
4. 6 pack of LC 5.5" flat pads ( 3- orange, 2-white , 1-black)
5. LC 5.5" flat pad
6. LC 5.5" white pad
7. UPGP 4 oz.
8. Sonax - Daytona jr. wheel combo
9. Foam pad conditioning brush
10. dp pad rejuvenator
11. Colinite 845
12. Safe scrub bug and tar pad
13. Pinnacle shampoo

So guys and tips on these products would be appreciated and let me know if this sounds like a decent starter kit or what i'm missing!:props: Thanks

Just remeber that Sonaxs price can add up over time, if you want a sustitution for less, I have heard great things about ZEP citrus degreaser

Why are you getting the 105 and the wolfgang duo? If you are getting 105, I would get 205. Or try the wolfgang duo by itself?

^ what he said. If this is your first purchase and you're new to detailing, I'd stick with the Wolfgang Duo as it's more user friendly. Also, depending on the size of the spokes on your rim, I'd ditch the Sonax and Dayton Jr combo and get the regular size Daytona brush and some OPC.

What is your wash media and drying method? I'd hate for you to go through all this and end up swirling the paint back up.

I would replace M105 with an AIO such as Megs or Duragloss, and then opt for a Green and Yellow pad added to your mix of pads. You don't mention any clay or clay lube, nor MF towels so I assume you have them covered already.

I think that is a great order. I like having 105 and the WG duo, so I think that is a great choice personally. Sometimes just having 105 for spot repairs or areas you need to work by hand is a lifesaver and if u need some serious cutting power it is there for you. The only thing I would change is the Pinnacle shampoo. It is way overpriced and not that great of a shampoo. There are many better options...OPT, ultima, The pinnacle XMT just to name a few.

Wolfgang shampoo is great luxury shampoo, citrus wash and gloss is an incredible bang for buck soap and a great soap

I ended up switching to wolfgang autobathe. Thank you for your input.:props:

Thank you for the advice. I ended up getting the OPC. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for the advice. I will try the duo first.

I dropped the M105 and i'll stick with the Duo for now and if i need more cutting power i may end up getting the M105. For washing i just purchased the Supreme 530 wash mitt and towel set. I do have some other cheaper microfiber towels i purchased from Autozone though for other cleaning details. I live in an apartment and they have no water hook ups for me to install a hose to wash my car. I have to drive down to the local car wash. I was looking into buying the bucket system here from autogeek but i have new 5 gal. buckets at home and i ordered gamma seals from some one else. Ordering a grit guard from here also.

Guys thank you for the advice and i'm going to take advantage of the 15% off one day sale to save a little more money.:dblthumb2:

I am currently using the meguiars gold class clay and lubricant and i like it. Never had issues with it taking the contaminants off my car and leaving it silky smooth. I'm new to the game and a little weary of using AIO's if that makes any sense. I'm even nervous about applying the ultima UPGP i'm purchasing but i've read nothing but good reviews on it.

I just found GammaSeal lids at Home Depot in their paint section so in a pinch this is a good source.

Since you do not have access to a hose, I highly recommend getting a rinseless wash and following the Gary Dean Wash Method (you can Google it). Essentially it is a one bucket wash method using multiple microfiber towels so that you never put dirty wash microfibers back into the wash solution media.

I would add the Daytona Brush for the wheels. Wolfgang Duo is great . Good Luck.
