Curious how many of you guys and gals add onr to your soap, I just started using optimum car wash and adding 1 oz of onr to it, any thoughts.Feed back please

I use Optimum Car Wash presently and I add a little ONR or UWW+ to bucket but not to foam gun reservoir.

ONR is a phemonemal water softener. Just a tiny bit will help your soap perform better.

I'd first fill the bucket with water, then a couple drops of ONR, then the soap.

I also use the Optimum car wash and add 1 ounce of ONR to the bucket. My water is pretty hard and I find that the ONR helps.

I usually don't do it, but adding an ounce does seem to help.

I use a few drops in my rinse bucket. No reason really, just a habit.

I've been do this for a long time and since Nanoskin Mitt came out Its a big help when using it.

Cool.
Glad to see others experiencing this also and not just PG County water.
For some reason I equate sudsing with cleaning/rinsing performance and swirl reduction :dunno:

So you guys recommend this for hard water? Only with Optinum wash, or other brands too?

It may affect suds more with some brands more than others but it will work with any shampoo. I use it with Adam's and notice nearly no reduction in suds.

IME, for the most part, Cali water sux.
The way that I see it is that you're gonna be rinsing with hard water anyways if you're using it for a wash water softening agent.
I personally saw no difference in spotting issues.

Nor could I judge the effect of OCWC/hard water solubility because there was significantly less sudsing and perceived increase in drag of the wash media due to decreased slickness. But I was following the "more is more" philosophy when adding to the wash.

Of all the threads that I've read on the subject, forum consensus is on adding the product to your soap of choice.

Out of interest, has anyone ever checked with optimum wheter onr has anionic or cationic character? You should never mix additives unless you know this info about both of them. If they don't match, it would be like using a fire extinguiser instead of lighter fluid on your bbq.

ONR was killing the sudsing of my OCWC solution so I stopped adding it.

That's why I asked this question, I use optimum cars wash for the first time and I added 1 oz of onr. I had suds but not like I expected I checked in at optimums forums and read that adding onr will affect the suds, however suds are a "by product" and are not needed. The proper way is to fill the bucket with water and then add soap and onr. The combination of the two was plenty slick, so the way I understand it a lot of suds kill the performance of the soap. I guess all these years I was thinking suds was what was need for a proper wash?

It's recommended the onr is a booster to the soap.
