What to do, what to do... my baby was scratched while in the care of nissan so they have agreed to respray the affected area but how will this affect my shine?
do they remove all wax before?
should i just treat the one area that was resprayed?
Also how good is an aftermarket job? The only other time I have seen a respray was on a bumper and that was junk! felt like there was lots of dust under the paint and i could even see a hair! i really dont want this to happen to my car.
has anyone had much experience with this kind of thing?

1) I would remove all wax myself.
2) Emphasize that if they do not match the color to your paint as it is now you will take their first born
3) After emphasizing the potential loss of first born, make sure they properly treat the scratches. Dont accept a blob of orange peel.

Im not familiar with Nissan's service, I went through a similar ordeal a while back with this which got ugly.

There is a huge difference in the range of quality of painting from one shop to the next. You can get your car painted perfect without too much problem, but be prepared to pay a premium price. Some shops do really nice work for the price. See examples of their work first, since it is really important to you.

thanks for the replies. that all sounds like good advice. i'm reasonably sure that the shop should be ok. the one they said is used by more than one dealership even to paint factory options which come in from japan like aerokits/wings. and if not ive got his first born to do my bidding mwuahahah!
might get him to do the front bar and bonnet while hes got the cooker on and the paint mixed.. cheers guys
