Twice this week my car has been hit. TWICE! The first time, I was at a light and a lady rear-ended me. I have a manual so I didn't have my foot on the brake too hard so I hit the person in front of me. Well I hit their hitch so their jeep was fine. My car, being lower, took the damage (see first picture). My rear bumper is creased but otherwise okay. Now today, I got side swiped (see second picture). This one is a lot worse. It involves missing paint, and multiple dents in the rear quarter. All because someone wasn't paying attention. I'm beyond furious to be honest. I'm going to compound off what is a lot of paint transfer. My dad's friend is a body shop guy and said my paint was in really good condition for being 13 years old. So now I have to go through the hassle of getting this fixed :(

That sucks man. I have been lucky enough to have never been in a wreck (knock on wood) but I feel your pain. It's extra worse when something like this happens for us detail freaks because we spend so much time and effort to make our rides perfect.

Sorry to hear about your mis-fortune Trent as I know the feeling.I had my vehicle totaled (Me and Robin were T-Boned by a driver not paying attention and running a red light) in January.
Just at the very least be thankful your not seriously hurt or even worse.
Accident's do suck but they happen everyday.
Glad to see your posting and not somewhere else.

Transfer paint is much easier removed with tarminator than compounding. IPA wipe afterwards and start polishing the clean surface to remove the scratches as much as possible.

Hey Trent! That sucks, but maybe is a blessing in disguise. Since you just got a new Engy job with your Eng degree, someone is hinting that you should get a new ride! And you can show off your new ride with your awesome photography skills

Aw man Trent!!!! I'm sorry to hear about this man! I wouldn't do anything to the paint until the insurance adjuster sees the car cause it sounds/looks like the person who side swipes you will be cutting you a nice check. The main thing is you're ok, but yeah I'd still be pissed off. I hope things will work out in your favor.

That sucks! Hope things work out for you OK. Good advice to let the adjuster see it before you clean it up.

But if it's that old, they might want to total it, I don't think I'd let them do that.

2nd the notes here about not touching it. Looks like a new front cover, absorber, and 5-8 hours on that quarter plus blending the door and pulling the quarter glass. Probably $15-1800 in damage or so. Your insurance will prob want to do a recon or aftermarket front cover, so ask them about it if you don't see an oem part# on that line on the estimate.

I called my insurance company and was told to go to the office so I did. They've seen it and documented it. I'm glad I'm not hurt and they could have been worse. Just sucks being so particular about my paint, as most of us. And i hate seeing my gal sickly

Man Trent that really sucks........let your Insurance Co. handle it ! Don't mess with it till they get a look!

If you make it look better means less money for you and you want it to be fixed right Don't you?

Sorry you have to go through this........but just hang in there and let the insurance co. do there job and be firm on who you let do the repairs.

And I'm glad you not hurt! are you? you sure?

Sorry to hear this news. People drive like fools. I was rear ended two years ago and they were never able to serve courts papers to the lady who hit me. I had to pay my deductable and she got off with nothing.
