Ahh spots.. WHAT IS THIS? please help.

I havent been able to wash my car for about a week now, and I went into the garage this morning and turned on the light.... What in the world happened to my hood?? The last time I did any machine polishing was about a week and a half ago I would guess... It rained two days ago while it was outside but thats it...? Here are the pics. I took the pictures in complete darkness with a cell phone (trying to get to work so in a hurry) using a flash to highlight the "Spotted" areas.

Notice in the image above the "clean" black part. I tried with some P21S soap and water to remove the spots, no luck its like there is something bonded to paint.

These spots are covered all over my hood but nowhere else... Since my car has a large slant on the hood at the far ends, I applied all things by hand on that area which makes me believe it wasn't my technique because the spots are just as visible there...

Please let me know if you know what this can be

Those awful water spots. I hate water spots. Maybe when it rained you didn't dry the car completely and it left its mark. Basically its just mineral deposit left from when the water evaporated and was allowed to get etched into the paint. Similar to bird droppings this should be taken care of as soon as possible. Maybe some Megs Quick Detailed and a microfiber, but use least aggressive to aggressive measure to correct it. Don't allow the sun to bake those deposits into the paint.
