Air Knife? Knife Air Chuck?

In using the compressor to blow water off the car after a wash, it works well for the seams and trim, but for an open panel like a hood or roof, I find it lacking. I feel if there was an attachment to use that blew air out through a slit - like if I stabbed butter with a butterknife - it would channel the air into a line and blow the water off much better than just the circular hole chuck I have now.

I searched on line and did not find anything like this. Anyone happen to know?

I am not a fan of vacuum or leaf-blower attachments. Our world is too noisy as it is. Too bad it won't hook to a compressor (and was a little smaller, my goodness).

Air compressors are great for pumping up tires, blowing debris from cracks and crevices, operating air tools and spray guns but fail miserably when using to dry a cars finish. The reason for this is an air compressor simply cannot and will not supply the required volumes of air, they're not designed to.

Compare the CFM, cubic feet of air per minute, rating of your compressor and now take a look at let's say a leaf blower.

Large piston or pump stye compressors deliver about 10 to 12 CFM of air. This is huge when operating air tools and the like.

A $50 leaf blower delivers a constant 350 to 450 CFM of air...

This is why are compressors do poorly when used to dry your vehicle....

If noise is a major concern then I'd suggest stocking up on Guzzler drying towels. These work very well and are as quiet as it gets....
