Air tool oil on felt ring--Flex

I picked up some air tool oil as I read here it is recommended to lube the felt ring a little. My question is how much is necessary? A few drops around it? Say 5 or 6 drops spaced out? Or should I do a very light, thin bead around the entire ring?

For best results, make sure that the entire ring is coated. This will help ensure that you get maximum life from the backing plate.

Hello. How often should the felt ring be oiled? Everytime we use it or .....?
