The owner has had this car for a while, but didn't like it's present condition. He saw my work on the forums and what I was capable of doing. So, he emailed me asking for a full detail and what was included. He agreed and scheduled an appointment. He requested that I used one of his waxes that he had. Turns out it was Supernatural; I have never used this wax so I was pretty anxious to how it would turn out.

It was raining upon delivery (Sunday @ 6.00 pm), so I just sucked it up and did a quick wash and wheel cleaning then pulled it in my garage to dry it off. :P

Here's how it was upon arrival.

Wheels were cleaned with Chemical Guys Sticky Wheel Gel and an arrangement of brushes. Tires and Wells received Chemical Guys Orange Degreaser.

Front end was treated with Chemical Guys Bug & Tar remover and a bug sponge for agitation and was then washed with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash + Gloss and wool wash mitt. After I pulled it back in the garage, I then started to dry it with a Cobra Waffle Weave Drying Towel and my air compressor. After drying, I started to clay using Chemical Guys Heavy Duty Clay and Chemical Guys Luber as clay lube.

To prepare for the paint inspection, I gave it a good wipedown with IPA 1:1 to show the true condition of the paint.

I used M105/Orange and 106ff/white on my D/A @ speed 6 for defect removal. Some problematic areas needed rotary such as hood and one of the fenders. Here are some Before and Afters of the swirl removal.

After polishing and removing the tape, I pulled it out to give it a quick wash to rid of any oils or dust left from the polishing. I then began to apply the glaze. I used Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish which gave it a really nice gloss to the white metallic paint.

I then applied a coat of Chemical Guys JetSeal109 for protection and let it cure for an hour then buffed off.

While the sealant was curing, I started to care for the rims. I polished the lips with M105 and then waxed the rims with Chemical Guys Wheel Guard.

With the glaze and sealant in place, I started to apply the Dodo Juice Supernatural Wax. I applied 2 thin coats and let sit 15 min before buffing off. Applied and wiped off like a DREAM!

The exhaust tips were then touched up with Chemical Guys Metal Shine and #0000 steel wool and the tires received 2 coats of Chemical Guys VRP Dressing.

After polishing the exhaust tips and dressing the tires, I pulled her out for a quick photo shoot. I know I am not the best photographer, just playing around a bit. ;)

Very nice. Did this G have scratch resistant paint (sticky paint)?

Nice work! But that car and mine are Infiniti's, not Infinity's(speaker brand).
 
Good work, I like the wheels but they could use some spacers IMO, just like any g35/37 coupe. Looks like an enjoyable detail though. I bet the owner was pretty stocked. Maybe teach him how to care for it so he doesnt let such a nice and new vehicle get in bad shape again.

Yes the paint was EXTREAMLY sticky... I could only use rotary on flat surfaces, had to use D/A 90% of the time.

Yeah that sticky crap blows! Glad to see that you were able to get through with the DA though. I will keep this in mind.

Your fine with a DA on the sticky clears. Sticky clears aid in repair of paint by use of sunlight. So heat is what makes it sticky. Rotaries cause more heat than DA's(obviously). Therefore mimicing the heat from the sun. It then becomes sticky while polishing.

Yeah just after getting my FLEX rotary, I do not like using the DA! lol
