All about Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax

Let's take a look at one of the best and easiest car waxes you'll ever use, Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax.

Besides smelling absolutely delicious, which makes waxing your car even more enjoyable, Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax is like no other car wax you have ever used or ever will use. With tens of thousands of jars sold there are tens of thousands of 100% satisfied Pinnacle Paste Wax users across the world, check it out...

Easy to use
Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax has a butter-like, smooth consistency which makes it one of the easiest waxes on the market to apply. Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax spreads out easily as it glides effortlessly over the paint enabling you to lay down a thin, even layer of wax whether you apply it by hand or machine.

Easy to remove
Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax doesn’t need to dry before removing and this makes wiping a coat of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax one of the easiest if not THE easiest waxes to wipe off.

Geographical areas of high heat and humidity
If you’ve ever lived in a place that gets hot and humid you know how difficult some waxes can be to spread out and then to wipe off. If fact the wipe-off can be so difficult that you can inflict scratches into the paint just from struggling while wiping off wax.

map_global_humidity_index.jpg
heathumidity.jpg

Not so with Pinnacle Souveran Paste wax, it’s the easiest wax to apply and remove in extreme heat and moist climates so you don’t wear yourself out while washing and waxing your car and you don’t have to be concerned with instilling swirls and scratches into your car’s delicate clear coat finish.

Show Car Glossy Results
Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax is formulated using a special blend of Brazilian Ivory Carnauba Wax which is refined to a much higher degree than Brazilian Yellow Carnauba Wax for a higher gloss, brighter shine and a wetter look. Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax is famous for adding warmth and depth to all automotive paints.

I have a saying I use on the forum and in all my classes that goes like this,

Gloss comes from smoothness

280_1970Camaro009.jpg
280_1970Camaro061.jpg

So after doing any pre-wax paint cleaning and/or polishing if needed, a coat of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax deposits a layer of Brazilian Ivory Carnauba Wax protection over the paint coating over any minor surface imperfections creating a more smooth surface which then results in a more glossy finish. I think everyone will agree a great looking finish is a glossy looking finish.

Deep, wet shine
Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax is rich in natural oils and it is these oils which create depth and reflectivity as well as bringing out the full richness of color when used on medium to dark colored paints. It is this custom blend of polishing oils that creates the deep, wet shine everyone loves.

Natural Wax Protection
Carnauba wax has historically been the choice of wax by polish and wax manufactures because it has a time-proven history of protecting automotive paints with a durable barrier coating that resists corrosion and attack from the environment and all climatic weather conditions. The automobile has only been common to man since the introduction of the Model T in 1908, sure there were cars before the Model T but it was Henry Ford that introduced a car that the average person could afford to purchase, drive and maintain that transitioned civilized society from riding horses to driving cars.

Early car waxes were primarily formulated using some manner of Carnauba wax and that’s because the chemist knew that when paint is properly prepared and the wax formula is properly applied, the layer of Carnauba wax left behind on the surface would both create and maintain a beautiful shine.

Won’t stain plastic trim
Whether your vehicle has gray or black plastic, vinyl or rubber trim, Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax won’t leave behind a white, chalky residue that dries and leaves an unsightly stain like so many other products on the market. It’s always a good idea to take your time to carefully apply any wax and avoid getting it on trim but with Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax this feature gives you an added measure of protection.

Non-abrasive, no cleaning ability
Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax doesn’t contain any abrasives or chemical cleaners nor does it contain any harsh solvents and what this means is it doesn’t have any ability to remove paint or any other impurities on the surface. It is this characteristic that makes Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax a true show car or finishing wax. It also means it won’t dull the surface of paint in excellent to show car condition as described in my how-to book under the chapter, Paint Condition Categories

Paint Condition Categories
Page37ofBook.jpg

Most retail waxes are in fact cleaner/waxes and contain either chemical cleaners to clean the paint or harsh solvents which act to clean the paint. Some retail waxes contain abrasives to clean the paint and in some cases a combination of all three of these ingredients, (chemical cleaners, harsh solvents & abrasives). These types of waxes serve a purpose if you’re working on a neglected finish and in fact if you’re working on a neglected finish you need a cleaner/wax.

The cleaners and abrasives in some wax formulas are strong enough that they can actually dull down a finish in excellent to show car quality condition. So be sure to inspect your car’s finish and evaluate the condition of the paint before choosing which wax is best for your car’s finish.

Can be layered
Want maximum protection and shine? Simply wait for a window of time about 12 to 24 hours and then apply a second coat to ensure a complete and uniform layer of wax over the entire finish. Apply the second coat very gently using a clean soft foam applicator pad.

Best wax for red and black cars
Red and black cars stand out in a sea of white, silver and beige colored vehicles so common on the road today. If you own a red or black colored car you know what I'm talking about because like me you notice all the red and black cars driving down the road, parked in a parking lot or on display at a car show. If you own a red or black car then Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax will be your go-to wax after you’ve used it one time and experienced the results both on the car and from the comments you get from those around you.

Perfect wax for new car owners
If you own a brand new vehicle, then immediately after you bring the car home it's time to start taking care of the exterior paint. Brand new paint shouldn’t need any correction work and the best way to maintain the factory show room look is to regularly maintain the finish with a premium quality wax. If you start out a brand new vehicle with Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax from the moment you take possession of the car your car will always look show room new.

Perfect wax for people that don’t normally like to wax their car
While many of us enjoy washing and waxing our pride and joy, there are some people that don’t like this portion of car ownership often times because they’ve had a bad experience with lesser quality products and then mistakenly assumed that all waxes are the same. Nothing could be further from the truth and one car waxing session with Pinnacle Souveran Wax will completely change your perception by taking the hard work and disappointment out of the process and replacing it with a product that’s so easy to get professional result that it makes waxing your car fun and easy.

Value for your money
Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax is a premium quality car wax that creates both a beautiful finish while also providing months of protection when properly cared for. A single 8 ounce jar of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax at $95.00 per jar will provide 30 applications of wax to a medium sized car making each application approximately $3.00 which is less than a cup of Frou-Frou Coffee at a fancy coffee shop and the coffee is gone after a few minutes while the shine and protection from an application of Pinnacle lasts for up to 90 days and longer depending upon how you care for your car.

How to apply Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax

There are three ways to apply Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax

  1. By hand using a clean, soft foam or microfiber applicator pad
  2. By hand using a Polishin ‘Pal
  3. By machine using a DA Polisher and a soft foam waxing or finishing pad
All three work well and are easy to do; it really comes down to personal preference.

Tip for working by hand
When applying Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax by hand using an applicator pad or a Polishin ‘Pal, apply using straightline motions by moving your applicator pad in the direction the wind would blow over the car if you were driving the car down the road. By applying Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax using straightline motions you will prevent inflicting any circular swirls if by chance you pick up and trap any type of abrasive particulate between your car’s paint and your applicator pad.

Tips for applying a paste wax by machine
Carefully knock the Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax out of the jar and then holding it in a clean microfiber glove make a couple of swipes across the face of a clean, dry foam finishing pad on a DA Polisher.

How to remove Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax
There are two ways to apply and then remove Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax, one is to apply to the entire car and then remove the layer of wax and the other is to apply and remove to a single panel at a time. Both approaches work, this too really comes down to personal preference.

Tips for wiping Pinnacle Souveran off by hand
Use a premium quality microfiber towel and fold the towel 4-ways to give you 8 wiping sides.

300_Towefolded4ways.jpg

Not only do you get more use out of each towel but by folding the towel into quarters you create a thickness of towel that cushions the pressure between your hand and the layer of wax.

Wash car before applying Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax
Before using Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax you need to start with a vehicle that is clean and free from any loose dust or dirt. Before using Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax, first either wash your car using a premium quality car wash shampoo or wipe the car clean using a premium quality, high lubricity spray detailer or waterless wash.

Work on a cool surface in the shade
Always apply wax to a cool surface in the shade as this will make applying, spreading and then wiping the wax off as easy as possible. Even products that state they can be used in direct sun will apply and wipe-off easier on a cool surface in the shade plus you eliminate any risk for potential streaks and smears.

How to wash your freshly waxed vehicle

The most common question asked about any wax goes like this,
How long will a wax last?
And there are two parts to the correct answer.

Part 1 AnswerNew vehicles and vehicles in good to excellent condition
How long a wax will last depends upon how well the paint is prepared to accept the wax. Since Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax doesn’t contain any abrasives, harsh solvents or chemical cleaners it should only be used on a vehicle in which the finish is in good to excellent condition and free from any loose surface dust, dirt or road grime.

As long as your car is in good to excellent condition, and you wash and dry or wipe your car clean before starting, Pinnacle Souveran Paste wax can last up to 3 months and even longer depending upon outside factors like where the car is parked, where and how the vehicle is used.

Part 2 AnswerHow the car is washed, dried and maintained
How a vehicle is washed, dried and maintained is a HUGE factor that affects how long any wax will last. To maximize how long a coat of Pinnacle Souveran Paste wax lasts here some best practices.
A. Always use a pH balanced, non detergent car wash
Car wash products that are not pH balanced can chemically strip any wax off the surface decreasing their lifespan and thus the beauty and protection they provide. Detergent soaps break down the layer of wax prematurely and leave your vehicle’s paint unprotected. The best way to take care of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax is to use a premium product like Pinnacle Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo.

Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo is pH balanced and non-detergent, it uses natural coconut oils to lubricate the surface so dirt will glide off the paint instead of grind against it. By using a wax-safe car wash soap Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax will last longer and thus protect your vehicle’s paint longer.

B. Use a premium quality wash mitt
Besides using a pH balanced car wash, you need to also use a clean, soft, high quality wash mitt that's gentle to the touch along with good technique for actually moving the wash mitt over the finish.

Expert technique could be something as simple as NOT scrubbing the paint over and over again while moving the wash mitt over the surface but instead only making a few passes with the wash mitt over a section of paint to loosen the hold of any dirt so it can be flushed off the surface with water.
How to extend the time between washing and waxing
By using premium quality spray detailers and spray waxes you can dramatically extend the time between a normal car wash and a normal application of wax plus maintain that just detailed or just waxed look.

Pinnacle Crystal Mist Detail Spray and Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Spray Wax are two products that are designed to enable you to keep your car clean and protected fast and easy to get the most protection time possible with Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax.

What to do if your car’s finish has been neglected
Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax is still an excellent choice for neglected paint but before applying the wax you’ll want to first address any surface quality issues.

Inspect your car’s finish for contamination
First wash and dry your car to remove any loose surface dirt, dust, pollen or road grime. Next feel the paint with your clean, bare hand or use the Baggie Test. If you feel any rough surface texture this is a sign you need to clay your paint before you apply Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax.

The Baggie Test

Remove contaminants by using detailing clay

280_1939LincolnZephyr030.jpg

Inspect your car’s finish for swirls, scratches, oxidation and water spots
After you inspect your car’s finish for contamination, next use two sources of good light like bright overhead sunlight and indoor florescent lights to check for defects like swirls, scratches, oxidation and water spots.
Light neglect
If you discover light neglect the use a non-abrasive paint cleaner like Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion to clean the surface and restore a like-new finish. Cleaning the paint with Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion will perfectly prepare the paint for application of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax to maximize both the protection and beauty provided by the Brazilian Ivory Carnauba and the all-natural polishing oils.

Medium Neglect
For paint with minor swirls and scratches, use Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish to machine polish away any shallow surface imperfections. This will perfectly prepare the paint for an application of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax.

Light Swirls

Severe Neglect
If you discover serious or deep swirls and scratches, start out by machine polishing with Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover, followed by Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish and after putting your vehicles finish through these two gentle but effective polishing processes the paint will be back to the same condition it was when it left the assembly line and perfect for application of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax.

Other factors to consider...

Park your vehicle inside a garage
You can dramatically increase the length of time an application of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax will last on your vehicles paint by parking your vehicle inside of your garage. By parking your vehicle inside your garage you will protect the paint from the environment and anything in the environment that would attack your vehicles waxed paint if left outside. Things like,

  • Harsh, salty marine air
  • Industrial pollution in industrial areas
  • Jet exhaust fallout near busy, major airports
  • Auto emissions and pollution from areas of dense population and congested traffic
  • Naturally occurring contaminants like air-borne dust and dirt, pollen
  • Polluted Rain - Either Acid Rain or Alkaline Rain
Park under a carport
While not as full enclosed as a garage, a carport will still help to protect your vehicles finish from the environment, especially the horizontal panels which are the most prone to attack and degradation.

Carports help extend wax protection
20Carport.jpg

Use a high quality car cover
If you don’t have a garage you can extend the life of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax by covering your vehicle with a high quality car cover when you’re not driving it. Like a garage, the car cover will protect the waxed body panels from anything in the environment around the car by preventing it from coming into contact with the paint.

Man I picked up a jar off VIP a while ago and havent used it yet. Now im gonna have to get off my butt and put a layer of this on....

Ive had this wax for a while and used it once. Loved it. Ive been addicted to Fuzion lately though. Both amazing waxes IMO

Souveran (and Mike's expert teachings) won my car best paint at detail fest. Souveran is an absolute joy to use.

Definately good stuff! It reminds when I first found AG I had to buy some Souveran. Being really green I wasted so much wax. I posted on here how much I

used (like 1/2 jar in three waxings) and people were like "YOU'RE USING TOO MUCH". So funny. It really doesn't take much to do a medium sized car.

Love this wax. So easy to use. Makes Black ripple. I use this in the Spring and Summer Switch to Fuzion in the Fall and Winter. I prefer this over the Fuzion. Also use the Pinnicle Spray Wax at every wash. Works great

Just did my truck today with this wax. So easy to apply and wipe off. Makes my beautiful race red F150 POP!!!

I love Souveran....... and the spray wax is wonderful too. I like the shot of the guy with the baggie dragging the bracelet across the paint.

Yea but can I melt it down back into one piece? I like to apply with gg da
Makes it kind of difficult broken in pieces

I'm not a big fan of re-melting waxes, I think there's the potential to change or modify the ingredients in the product in a negative way. Don't know that for sure as I'm not a chemist but I've worked with chemists and just sayin...

Just thinking outloud, I have not tried this personally...
You can try heating it up by placing it in a sink of warm water, leave it there long enough to warm the entire thickness of the wax. I have know idea how long this would take but you'll have to re-add water as the water cools. Point being this is a way to warm the wax without heating it and getting it HOT.

Then open the lid and push the wax down to push it back together and then let it cool.

Now heat the outside of the wax container with a hair blow dryer to soften the very outside of the wax to get it to slide back out of the jar.

Then forever be very careful anytime you hold the chunk of wax outside of the jar so you don't crack it.

No perfect science to this so feel free to experiment and let us know if you come up with a surefire way that works.

You can also simply spread wax from the jar to the face of the pad the way I show on page 107 of my how-to book

Thanks Mike! I like the wrench spreader idea. If I try to heat it I'll
Report back what I do and if it works.

I have 3 coats of Zaino brothers on my new Panamera GTS. If I apply a 4th coat of Souveran, will I see a dramatic difference in gloss an shine? Thanks gtsosm

No you'll just be in overkill land. Don't waste the product.

Haha I was just reading this post again and I thought "man this is great write for souveran. " then looked up and saw Mike P posted it.

It is an absolutely must-have product and its reputation shows, very few other products have lasted the test of time !

Thanks Scott

I was in the process of ordering it and Nick asked me into buying Black Ice. I'll let you know how it does. Have a great rest of the weekend.
