Gary Dean mentioned he uses this and a few reviews I Googled said the same thing. Target has thew regular and the version with Oxy Clean in it. Was wondering if anyone has used both and can comment.

Oxy one's a tad bit more expensive, I'm assuming since the regular free and clear is fine for MF the Oxy version is too, but I can't find any information on Google. I know this is kind of a n00b question, but I just invested in $150 worth of MF and don't want to go messing them up lol.

I use the non-oxy version

Works great

No issues

I will actually try to use a lot of towels on a car to make sure I have a full-load

Using more towels actually seems to speed up my process

Do you use the liquid or the packs?

+1

I use a ton towels constantly switching keeps them cleaner and All free and clear does great job. Also found my old towel I us for our work trucks (trash trucks) that were nasty after 2-3 washing's came out clean and work a lot better now used to be hydrophobic.

I use the pods

With MF it is generally suggested that a liquid be used as opposed to a powder, I have used powder before with no ill effects

This thread is good for us foreign people who don't have access to such diversity of microfiber cleaners. I use the chemical guys one and it worked better than any soap I've tried. However it's (sorry) damn expensive here, and to import by the gallon . When you call products by brand I feel lost because such brands aren't available here.

What do you recommend when I look for a conventional cleaner to wash microfiber? When you say vinegar, what kind, exactly? I sure suspect it's white clear, but like many here I don't want to mess any of my expensive microfiber towel...

Any help, really appreciated.

Kind Regards.

I know I've read that Mike Phillips has used powder detergent too. I cannot remember which article though.

for particularly stained dirty towels, i have boosted MF Restore with Oxi-Clean powder with agitation in warm water then i shut it off for a soak and have had no issues. though...i do an extra rinse cycle (softened well water = minimal expense) so that might make a difference re: powder residue, granules or whatever the fears might be with powders.

White distilled vinegar. Used in place of fabric softener, it is supposed to dissolve any mineral accumulation, and acts as a natural fabric softener without clogging the fibers in the towels.

At least, that's the theory behind it.

"All" is a brand of laundry detergent, their "free and clear" product contains no dyes, perfumes, or softening agents. If you have a detergent available in your area of the world that has similar characteristics, it's likely a good pick for your microfibers.

All free and clear is the only detergent used at the 07 house (period)

No different for my towels.

And yes my skin has a sensitivity to perfumes and such......and to be honest I quit shaving 30+ years ago due to allergies to shaving cream.

Got it, thank you for clarifying.

I'll look for a product within your description, hope I find something.

Kind Regards.

All free and clear is just an allergy laundry soap (has no added perfumes or softeners) just leaves the towel very clean with no additives to try and minimize allergens, which is what we are looking for no additives. So if you don't have All brand you can just look for something marketed similarly for allergy suffers. Also yeah its white vinegar I forget why they add it, memory wants to say it breaks up Calcium in hard water well but not sure.

EDIT: or exactly what Aim4squirrels said just read his post I never made it to page 2.

Great to hear, this additional information was very helpful.

Thank you for taking your time to help me out.

Kind Regards.
