So I just detailed my new car for the first time today using the two bucket method and using a large premium drying microfiber towel to dry. The two bucket system worked well and I'm glad I learned it here :xyxthumbs:. However, I very much disliked drying with the microfiber towel. I was about to purchase the Master Blaster but then realized I do not have an outlet to connect to. (I live in an apartment complex and their car wash area has no outlets).

Instead, I've been looking at electric/cordless leaf blowers. Would that be a good alternative? Thanks for the help!!

18-Volt Cordless Electric Blower-CB20018 at The Home Depot

Get a power inverter for your car and plug the leaf blower in..

Well they sell cordless ones for the same price..like the one I have linked above and it saves the trouble of doing that. However, if the inverter will work with the Master Blaster..that would be awesome. But from what I've researched, the Master Blaster needs a lot of power (?)

I dont think an inverter will power a MB. The Makita Cordless may be a good option.

I was going to suggest a gas powered leaf blower but the Air Wand Al's suggesting looks interesting as well.....

If you do decide on the power inverter me sure it's specs match those of the leaf blower you intend to use.

We now offer the Makita cordless blower ... its also 18v.

Makita battery and charger sold separately...are you kidding me????

Like the song says, "Ain't nothing like the real thing.."

I had a hard time getting myself to spend $315.+ on the thing.
Now I know it's the best money I've ever spent on detailing tools.

That little blue unit mentioned before works OK (I have one also), but it can't compete with the Master Blaster.
They are not even close to the same class.

Besides, how can you go wrong buying the same tool that this year's "Best Of Show" winner uses on his Skybaby!

Unless you bought recently then you have the old model. It was underpowered. This one has been beefed up. It just works. Well I might add. And I can promise that you are paying for the battery technology over the blowers function with the makita. It does not work 250 dollars better than the jet speed.

I bought it about two months ago from Chemical Guy's web site when they re-introduced it.
It works OK, but it's no where near as powerful (or as expensive) as a real Master Blaster.
My next door neighbor let me borrow the MB he got himself for Christmas, and one use and I was hooked.

The JetSpeed works just fine for wheels, trim and in a pinch can be used to dry a car, so I decided to keep it as a mobile unit to put in my trunk.

With the MB, I can completely dry the hood and roof of my car standing two feet away from one side.
No way will the JS do that.

From 2 feet away? Either that's a heated unit or it puts out some power. That's impressive. The nozzle of my JS is usually about 2 inches away. Good thing it's rubber. Also two points I'd like to mention. A waxed vehicle doesn't take much force to blow water off. Water sticks to A neglected vehicle vehicle like snot. Lol

2nd, I dry a vehicle carefully and systematically with my blower in one hand (another reason I like the size) and my drying towel in the other. I've sort of perfected my system over the last few months and I use each tool together to dry. I can dry a full sized SUV in a matter of a few minutes. No spots, no hidden water. I'm totally fine with that. I couldnt get a few hundred bucks of "better than what I already got" by buying a Mb. But too may detailers get caught up in "their way" being the best and only way when really its the best and only way for them. If you're happy then that's all that matters.

The air from the MB is most definitively heated, but I doubt it was by design.
More like the two 4 HP Motors put out a lot of waste heat (entropy) spinning those big fans.

The air comes out of the nozzle at over 650MPH when both motors are engaged.

What's nice on the MB unit is the ability to turn off one of the motors when working in delicate areas, such as any taped on products like name tags and such and around the license plate frames.
It also saves your hearing when working on the rims...

So basically you could blow over a small dog or child with it.

most of the suggestions so far has been for a corded dryer . Looking for a cordless one fellas! I would buy the MB but it is corded and I don't have access to an outlet since I live in an apartment.

Still...I would buy a corded dryer and 2 100' sections of extension cord before i spend double on a battery. BUT thats just me.
