I've always wanted a purple car, and I was lucky enough to pick this one up last year at a local rummage sale.
It's been in inside storage at my friend Setec's house; I don't want to say his house is messy, but it got pretty dusty:
I wanted to clean it up, so since it was just dry dust I figured I'd vacuum:
The vacuuming didn't really clean out all the nooks and crannies of the interior, this is when some compressed air comes in really handy:
They say you can use Optimum Opti-Clean on interiors but I've never tried it, so I decided to give it a shot:
Still some gunk in the nooks and crannies, but that's when Q-Tips come in handy. Before:
After:
After I get the interior clean, I always like to use some Meg's #40 to protect it and give it that "new car" smell:
The undercarriage was clean so I didn't have to do anything:
Then it was time to clean the exterior, since it was mostly just dusty I pulled out the UWW+:
After I got everything cleaned up I thought it was time for some debadging:
Before:
After: If you look closely you can see a little adhesive residue
I wanted to check the exterior condition, so I did a spin around and found this:
Not sure if that CHMSL will pass inspection or not.
I'm not sure what this is, I think it must be the charging port for the plug-in hybrid version:
There were a lot of paint transfers; it seemed to be house paint (interior latex in this case) so I thought it was a job for DG501:
Hand application wasn't really cutting it so I had to break out my dual-head polisher:
After:
Some more paint transfer removal:
Before:
After:
Before:
After:
Some of the marks were deep and didn't come out.
Had to do a little cleaning on the wheels, too:
A little LSP and we're all done:
I took Setec for a ride after for helping me with this thread:
