Hey everybody!

I was just wondering what made a water spot a water spot? I'm assuming that it has to do with the iron and other contaminants in the water source due to the fact that distilled water doesn't produce water spots.

I ask because I end up having to do a light claying of the car every time I wash it to remove what I assume are impurities left from the evaporation of the water that leaves the bigger impurities behind.

Thanks!

You probably have hard water (minerals) in your area. Be sure that the car is completely cool and in the shade. Use the flood method when rinsing and use a blower if possible. Another more expensive method is hook up a water softener.

It's the minerals in the water that are left behind due to evaporation.

If you're claying you should be using a clay lube. The clay lube likly made from demineralized water, so there shouldn't be any issues. I wipe dry as I finish claying a panel.
