What's the description of that particular sheet? Is it "tread plate"? Reason I ask is because it doesn't seem to be the high gloss reflective variety "diamond tread plate" or is it just my phone view?

Correction: I believe it's called "tread brite"
I worked for an aluminum company for several years a while back and I'm testing my memory.

My buddy did the same thing. He works at a HVAC/sheet metal fabrication company, so he got the sheets at close to wholesale price. He went all the way up to the ceiling. He loves chucking things at the walls and nothing bad happening. I've wanted to do the same thing to my garage ever since. His panels had a plastic protective film on the top side that he pealed off after installation. They were shiny underneath.

That is correct my friend! It looks a little weathered and not super bright or shiny. Should match my Kobalt cabinets pretty good.

Sounds nice! I am going 4ft up the wall all the way around, but the wall that joins the house with all my cabinets and detailing stuff on will be fully plated top to bottom.

Stuff is not cheap. Right around $100 a panel.

Is that .125 aka 1/8th inch thick? Or is it .063? Or did you go heavy duty and get .188?

I believe it is .125. I had a sheet up by the mat station if you remember. That piece was super shiny and much thinner in comparison to this stuff. I will have to repaint above where that old piece was from taking it down. No big deal.

Sounds about right. I remember that thin .063 tread brite like it was yesterday.
.125 inch is solid for what you're doing. It can easily handle your boy going directly at it with a bat a few times with no damage at all. Lol.

Now THAT is sexy as hell! In my best Tim the Toolman Taylor grunt Oogh, Oogh!

Do you apply adhesive to the wall or screws to hold the sheets in place. At my parents place when I still lived at home we did exterior vinyl in the entire garage was great for car washing. Really like the plating idea.

Really happy with the outcome. The wall completely done really adds to the garage. That made the biggest difference. Pictures don't do it justice.

Cut 3 3ft pieces for each section on the full wall so the seams are equally spaced and centered. Have around door to do then done. Long day of work.

My brother from another mother assisted along with having some good beers and tunes:)

Actually, your pictures make your posts among the best posts of the day, if not the best in the past few days.

This is how to make a great thread!
