First off, let me start by saying, I really like Chemical Guys Soaps. They are pretty much all excellent, with my favorites being Honeydew and Citrus Wash and Gloss. So, when I new one was coming out, I had to try it.

Mr Pink

I first mixed it in my MTM Foam Cannon at a dilution of 3oz (I think the bottle is 32 oz). While I was at it, I marked the bottle in 3oz increments as you can see. While doing this, I realized that sometimes I was using more soap than I thought. Probably around 5oz. So this time I used just over 3 oz. I'm using a pretty basic electric Karcher pressure washer, 1500 psi / 1.4gpm.

Here are some pics of what I got from this combo:

So, as for the foam cannon, I thought it was pretty good. However, I have to say I like Honeydew Snow Foam a little better. I thought the HD may have stuck to the paint a little longer.

I also mixed it in the wash bucket at the dilution CG recommends, which is "1 capful" per gallon. The cap of a 16oz CG bottle holds about 1/2 ounce. So, I went with 2.5 ounce for 5 gallons. The soap seemed to clean and rinse well enough, however, it didn't seem much (if any) different from similar CG soaps. For my money, I think I would rather use Citrus Wash and Gloss at 1 ounce per 5 gallons.

After the wash, I did a final rinse with DI water (via AquaGleam filter) and dried the vehicle with my Metro Air Force Blaster. It was sunny and about 50 degrees out. No matter what, working outside in the sun I find some water spots are inevitable on black. For whatever reason, this time they seemed even less than normal. I'm talking about very light water spots that wipe off.

I used UWW+ to spray down the panel before I touched it with mit, I also used it as a drying aid. I use this product for that over other waterless washes, due to it being so inexpensive per ounce. Also, I started a new wash method of hosing out the wash mit completely before I put it in the rinse water. Them twisting it On the grit guard. This way takes a bit longer and uses more water, but when I'm done both the rinse water and the wash water are clean with no residue in the buckets at all. I'm hoping this will help minimize any wash induced marring.

After all that, I put on a coat of Fuzion and a wipe down with Wolfgang Spritz Sealant. I dressed the tires with Poor Boys Bold and Bright with the Carrand paint brush applicator thing, which surprisingly worked better than I expected and is easier to clean than foam tire swipes. Also I applied XPel Flawless Finish on the paint protection film material. Anyone not familiar with the later product, it's designed just for PPF material and applies like a traditional sealant:

As for Mr Pink, its a great soap. However, I think I like Honeydew and Citrus Wash and Gloss better. By this time the sun was going down and I was getting ready to head out for Thanksgiving diner. Here are some final pictures:

Nice review! I love and use the whole CG soap line.

Mr. Pink doesn't quite blast shaving cream foam, but I kinda like that because the foam just dwells long enough to break down the dirt on the lower panels then it drips off the car.

Nice review! :xyxthumbs:

I'm currently using wash and clear and Mr. Pink is next on my list.

Nice review!
Looks like you can shave with Mr. Pink!

BTW does Mr. Pink leave any gloss or protection behind?

Beautiful car! Thanks for sharing the review.

I don't think so. It reminds me almost exactly of a red version of Honeydew Snow Foam. However, I can't see where it's better than HDSF. I just love the smell of HDSF, so I think I will likely be just refilling with that when the time comes.

Really, I think Optimum Shampoo is my all time favorite, and I've only used it once (never as foam). I keep getting new bottles to try. Next I'll be trying Duragloss' or Lusso's product, I have bottles of both I haven't opened yet. 1Z Gloss Shampoo is also nice, along with Sonax.

Beautiful car! Thanks for sharing the review.

Thanks. I drove it 1150 miles from PA to S. FL for Detail Fest '12.

I've tried many car washes over the years and I'm always trying new experiments. The best discovery I made was take 1/2 oz of the new ONR and 3 oz of Duragloss 901 in three gallons of water.

I've not found anything better. Goes on the paint like liquid glass, doesn't leave water spots and dries like a dream. Used that combo today in the bright sun with 35 mph wind. Imagine what that would do in terms of leaving water spots. The car after drying looked like I just poured liquid glass on the car. Never even thought of topping it with anything it looked that good.

Can't wait to try it. I ordered Mr. Pink, ONR (new version) and Duragloss 901 yesterday

Hmm...sounds like a winning combo. I might have to give that a try. I should really pull the trigger on the ONR while its on BOGO.

I've tried mixing ONR with standard shampoos but it always makes the suds go flat. I know many people say suds contribute nothing to the cleaning ability of these products, but it would seem to me (just a thought) that suds themselves contain higher concentrations of actual "soap" in them than the solution below. So, a "sudsy" wash mit would contain a higher concentration of soap (and more lubrication / cleaning ability) than the same wash mit dipped in flat version of the same solution.

Or, what I'm trying to say is, more soap is distributed on the mixture's surface of a "sudsy bucket "( wash mit passes through water's surface and picks some suds up ) than a flat bucket of the same solution - in which distribution of the soap is (more) equal (more soap on the bottom/unusable part of the bucket than a sudsy bucket of the same mixture).

... Just a thought. Could be nonsense.

Looks great. The suds look nice for those wanting creamy like suds.

When I measure a CG 16 oz cap, I only get about 7 oz (1/4 ounce). Are you sure it is a 1/2 ounce?

David G at Optimum has said suds have the same concentration as the remainder of the soap bucket. If it was different, nature tends to not like imbalance so it would have to be temporary. I just like the way the suds clings to the mitt.

True, they just contain more air.

Mr.Pink is average in a buckets. It does not matter if you mix 1 ounce to 5 gallons of water or 5 ounces to 5 gallons of water. The soap has no slickness or lubricity it just foams
