Hi everyone,

I tried out Wolfgang's SiO2 paint sealant today. Started with a rinseless wash with Uber, dried, then applied the sealant. Conditions weren't totally ideal since I was outdoors and it was a bit sunny.

I was pretty happy with the product. Was very easy to apply and buff off. I've been finding a lot of spray sealants (particularly the ones that advertise lasting longer) increasingly annoying to use outdoors and with imperfect lighting, and that I tend to find left over streaks and high spots over the next day. This sealant was really easy to see even without great lighting so seems unlikely to miss any spots.

Here are some iPhone pics and a short video. I'll note, I had to take a call so didn't have time to do the whole car, so skipped the lower panels for the moment. This is my seven year old daily driver with no garage.

I like the way this came out. Really nice and bright shine. I would say the shine is more "bright" or "beaming" than say, a "wet" look like Bead Maker.

Overall I'm a fan of this stuff. Easy to apply, easy to buff off, nice shine. Will see duration and how it handles water over time.

Thanks!

Looks great Hambone! I like those wheels on that car!

Echo DrOldz on the wheels. Nice job and nice looking car

Looks really nice, but I noticed that you didn't use a paint prep prior to application. Is that because you had not polished prior? If you had polished I'm wondering if it will bond properly.

Thanks! Correct, I didn't, and did not polish before. My guess is the bonding will be less than optimal without some kind of paint prep, but for my daily I just don't take the time to do that very often. Curious to see how it holds up even with the lack of surface prep.

I just used this, and I did polish first. I wiped down with CarPro Eraser prior to applying it
