A shout out to Nick for sending me these products to test. The conditions for the Wolfgang coating were about 75 degrees minimal humidity so pretty good detailing weather. Truck was parked in garage and was cool to the touch.

I tested this product on the roof of my truck. I hate getting on a step stool to clean/protect whatever I have to do to get it looking good. So I thought this would be a great place to use this coating.

The first thing I did was give the roof a waterless wash wipe down with Meg's D114. I had PBL V1 coating on it already that seemed to be breaking down. I removed it by polishing it with my 3401 w/ M205 and a white polishing pad. After the polishing the hood I wiped it down with the new Wolfgang Paint prep

I noticed that when using this Perfekt Paint Prep that you don't really need a lot of product at all. Which is good.

Next up was to get this coating applied.

This is how much I used which ended up being just a tad bit too much believe it or not. Less is more with this product!

This coating spread very easy. I noticed that I didn't see very many high spots at all if any. Might've been the color of my paint but if you do see any don't wait to level them out.

I was so surprised how easy this was to wipe off. Nick wasn't kidding. Its like wiping off a super thin coat of the easiest to use sealant you have in your arsenal.

This is how much I had remaining in the syringe. Not too bad but I did think I used a little much.

After wiping the coating I immediately threw my towel in the washer

3D Towel Kleen :)

Now the glory shots..

Very glossy.

Final Notes - There's not a negative thing I could say about this product. Super easy to use doesn't smell horrible very attractive shine. This coating in my opinion is worthy of bearing the Wolfgang name. I will be very interested to see how it will hold up with winter around the corner.

So far I give it a :dblthumb2:

Nice review. Thanks for sharing. I'm hoping to get mine applied Monday. Question...do you plan to do the rest of your truck? Why just the roof?

I like using different LSP's so I will hold off for the whole truck for now. The roof is a PITA to work on which is why I applied it there so I won't have to wax it as often. I have Synergy applied to the rest of my truck for winter.

When my mom comes to visit in a few months I'll apply the WG coating to her Honda.

Compared to any other coatings you may have tried, how does it rank?

Also, I miss those types of washing machines :( We have one of those HE machines.

The only other paint coatings I've tried are cquartz and PBL v.1. I would rank the ease of use right next to PBL... so very easy. As far as looks go, its very hard to say. All I know is that its very glossy :xyxthumbs:

Nice review. I like the cure time of just 4 hours and going to try this on my daughter's Elantra in the morning.

What level of hardness does this coating have ? 2H,3H or 9H ?

Im not sure. A good question for Nick, hopefully he'll see this and chime in. It is supposed to help prevent marring from washing that much I do know.

Coatings scratch as easily as clearcoats in fact easier in my experiences. Do you honestly think that something you rub on a car is as good or better than factory clear under environmentally perfect control conditions? Seriously...coatings are thicker than the alternative LSPs, and that's all. They are not better at shedding water (fk1000p and Sonax PNS are equally if not better), and I don't buy they look better. They are thicker and can last longer if applied correctly. That's it, and frankly thinking you're going to get two or three years out of any coating without the need to polish it off is foolish. Imagine never polishing your clearcoats over a two three year period. Yeah...

So, your basically saying that the leading experts in the Detailing Industry and Companies are making false and misleading accusations and misleading ?

Do you honestly think that something you rub on a car is as good or better than factory clear under environmentally perfect control conditions?..

Should we believe the quality of the cheap paint used by many car manufacturers is of the same quality as the expensive paint coatings we are using?

Should we believe that a paint coating is affected by application under normal garage environmental conditions?

The warranty on some factory paint is 5 years? Seems similar to many coatings

I'm not so sure
