Antique Craftsman Rotary Buffer



This is an antique Craftsman Rotary Buffer in my small collection of antique polishers, and my best guess is this is from the 1960's. Maybe someone has a better guess?

It still works but the cord should be replaced for safety reasons.

Another nice find Mike. Was it used in an Automotive environment? I can't really tell by the sandpaper? Looks like it has some pretty long throw?

Just to note, this isn't a DA Sander, (with a throw or orbit stroke), it's a circular sander/polisher. It is a direct drive, rotating tool.

I didn't come with any buffing pads but in the old days you could buy buffing pads that tied onto the rubber backing plate with a string.

I don't know the background on it. I bought this from Joe Fernandez aka Superior Shine and he bought it off eBay. I only have 2 antique polishers in my collection because after buying 2 of them I found I don't have time to accumulate more wax industry related items. I already have too many antique wax and polish bottles and cans.

The polisher works great. I had two and sold the best one to Mike. The other went in a yard sale.
