Any c5 owners step in.

Whoops, meant compound.

AR, this is slightly off topic, but any experience with optimum hypercut? i'm curious how that comparies to the m105. i've never used either so i'm in the dark. i know the m105 is used often for roles that seem ideal for optimum HC, but i have no idea....

Yes I have, do not care for it. Just did like the results and working time. Before I started using M105 I would use Power Gloss or Extra cut. Still use the extra cut from time to time.

Hi there Asphalt Rocket:
I ordered the menzerna show car kit early this morning.
I hope this will work.

Cool, this should make a difference. I take you are a Steelers fan from where you are from. My parents grew up in and outside of Pittsburgh.

Hi there A/ Rocket;
Yes I'am a big Steelers fan & a Jet fan.Pittsburgh is a 4 1/2 hour drive from Lebanon.About 275 miles from here. We are 18 miles east of Hershey,Pa. chocolate town usa. My late mother in law was born & raised in the city of Pittsburgh. My wife has her Moms pictures taken from there in the 30s.My wife has a lot of cousins still living there.
I was wondering what the steps are for using the menzerna kit?Heres what I did.I used the sip polish orange pad, next with a new orange pad super finish.3rd step used finishing glaze po 115 compound w/white pad.4th step waxed with meguiars gold class liquid wax using the black pad.I did the whole vette using this method. Some surface scratches were hard to remove . On those I used 3m rubbing compound perfect-it 11, #05973 that took them out. The 3m r/c has a tendency to dry fast so I sprayed the surface with water from a windex bottle & that worked fine.(I had a little streaking from this ,however the f/ glaze removed this) Then I used the f/ glaze & then waxed the entire car the next morning. The whole job took about 12hrs. & a stiff back. lol. I think it looks great.Where those the right steps? I plan on doing this once a year.My question is: If the vettes c/coat is supposed to be so hard then, why does the p/c cord make marks if you let rub against the paint?
Ps.The steelers better step up their running attack if they want to advance into the p/offs.
Later dude

I would start with the orange like you did with the 3m to get the deeper scratches out, go back over it with SIP/orange pad, might have done a step with SIP on a white pad just to get an inbetween step before the finish glaze, finish glaze with a white pad first then follwed up with it on a blue pad. Since I guess these are the only pads you have I would pick up a couple blue pads. I also like to apply my wax by hand with a foam applicator-to eachs own on this.
I have seen pictures that old from Pittsburgh myself from my grandmother, my dad is first generation so he is an old school guy from Pittsburgh and my mom was a farm girl. I still have a couple aunts and uncles, cousins there, and go to atleast four Steeler games. My parents still have some land there but nothing is going to be done with it I guess until my brothers and I get rid of it, dad won't let it go-lol.
You are not kidding about our running game, I hope Tomlin has the stones to get rid of Arians, since he has been there Ben has played his worst football. Also seems like Tomlin doesn't have control of the offense like Cowher did, so he needs to make some adjustments over the off season.
As far as the cc, I am with you, hard to remove things but easy to mar it, very upsetting.
So when do we get to see pictures of all your work?

Yeh I don't know what it is with Vette cc, it mars easily so you would think it had soft paint that corrects easily, but is a b!tch to correct.

Hi A/Rocket:
How where you holidays? I hope Santa brought you everything you wanted.
I'am not photo shop smart or a computor guru.My wife took some pictures with her digital camera after I finished the vette. I detailed our 05 ranger xlt but first that need claying as the paint felt like sand paper all over. That came out nice after 7hrs.Hard on the hands.
If you send your e-mail address I,'ll send some pictures that my son down loaded about 2 years ago just after I bought the vette. They are still in my e-mail box.
Enjoy the p/offs

Santa came through, so no complaints here. I sent you a pm with my e-mail address. Sounds like you are starting to get addicted to this thing called detailing.
