I know this is really not detailing but more upholstery oriented, but I was wondering if there is a way to repair my original interiors upholstery with an epoxy or something

There is a tear for first time in seat in 40 yrs about 10" long and I was wondering if it can be repaired or i need to re upholster the seat thanks

I know the dealerships have guys that do this type of repair. They can fix tears in vinyl, leather, and even use flocking to fill in cigarette burn holes in velour.

Is it leather?? They make kits to repair tears in leather. I used it a couple times and it is very easy.

10" is a pretty good size rip IMO. If I were you, I would go visit a couple of uphoulstery shops and get estimates on replacing that one section. Around here I can get it done for $100-$125

Depends what kind of interior is it? With cloth their are a couple tricks you can use. 10" is kinda big but if its a clean tear and the edges are touching each other there is a quick fix that would make it look ok until it get reupholstered

its vinyl bench, the original interior on my 71 demon....if it can not be repaired and I don't have an "original interior" i am thinking just complete resto mod with buckets, console etc...

BTW anyone know of a good bucket seat for that?

Not unless you are an upholsterer.

I have an auto upholstery shop withing walking distance and I just had the armrest in my old Explorer redone.
I just left it with them and picked it up a week later. $65.00
I am sure that any shop could also do tear repairs too.
