So, I did this 40' motor coach last week. It needed a new windshield, and the owner was lamenting about how you literally can't have it done here locally (town of about 100,000.) She said you have to drive 2-4 hours in order to get it done.
The windshield on this rig was a $3000 replacement. I have no idea what the margins are for parts and labor.
It occurred to me that this would be a great opportunity. I verified what she was saying, and the local RV dealer said they get 5-7 requests a week, but they just don't want to do them.
I started wondering why the dealer won't. Is it too much risk? Too hard to do?
I'm also trying to find information about getting training and getting wholesalers setup so I could order the glass.
Does anyone do this as an add-on part of their business? Even auto glass would probably help steer me in the right direction.
Thanks!
