I'm on my third bottle of Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine. I think it's an excellent product. I live in a apartment building and it's the easiest way to wash a vehicle for me. But i just got a new car and its my first black car so i'm extremely careful especially after the first time i got it washed at a "car detailer" and the car came back full of swirls. I have since corrected the paint however i am still a bit weary of using ONR on the swirl free black paint. For the record i am familiar with the correct technique when using ONR or any car wash soap, wipe in one direction and always use a grit guard. Who uses ONR or any rinseless wash exclusively and how have your results been?

I live in a condo and I exclusively do rinseless and own a black car with soft paint. ONR and D114 are fine and in my experience do not induce scratches. If you have soft paint, the potential for scratches will be during the drying process because you need to bone dry the car or otherwise you will see streaks on the black paint. I now dry with the combination of a leaf blower and use of a spray wax as drying aid to add lubrication and seems to be working so far.

I can't remember the last time I did a hose and bucket wash. I don't do any off-roading, so I never have to worry about serious mud. For my first thorough spring wash, I'll use my pressure washer to blow out all the salt from cracks and crevices, which you can also accomplish at the local DIY car wash. Normally, if one of my cars has gotten dirtier than usual, I'll do a presoak with my rinseless wash using a hand pump garden sprayer like this:Shop Garden Plus 0.40-Gallon Plastic Tank Sprayer at Lowes.com
Three of the four cars I care for are dark colors, but I have no fear of marring with Optimum, Duragloss or Meg's rinseless products, as long as technique is sound. As the Junkman says: "Technique trumps product every time".

I only bucket wash my cars about 5% of the time I wash them and thats only because I miss doing it that way and have car wash soap to use up.

BnB strictly use waterless wash

Even on fully corrected black paint

I only use waterless wash after the first 2 bucket and then the last of the season is 2 bucket. When I do a clients car the first is 2 bucket if they come to me for mait. wash I use no rinse.

I have been washing exclusively like this for months now. I use Pinnacle Wash and Gloss, I live in a apartment. Two bucket method with grit gards. I use a Griots drying towel, man that thing is big and can dry the whole car! I just did it today on one of my family cars.
I just can't believe I can wash a car with 4 gallons of water! Rinseless washing is a good alternative to a normal wash.

Not exclusive, but, primarily. The Shelby only gets water wash when it gets real dirty (which is almost never). If I take it on a trip or something like that where the brake dust and road grime is excessive. Otherwise I clean it with Griots Spray on Car Wash and gentle, no downward pressure, towel wipes.

I'm almost 100% rinseless. The only time I will pull out the two buckets are when I have a really filthy vehicle or am preping for a coating and there is lots of LSP still on the car.

I've been 100% rinseless for about a year and half now. Now I do live in an apartment but even if I had access to a hose I wouldn't go back, ever....ok well for 2 things I would use the hose, one to fill my bucket to do the rinseless and two to clean the wheelwells out a bit more throughly and clean the tires and wheels more completely, meaning getting everywhere.

I see people talking about only pulling out the 2 buckets for this or that but IMHO using 2 buckets with rinseless washes is THE ONLY WAY TO GO!, why chance it, its only another 2 gallons of water.

Did my first rinseless wash yesterday, I think I'm hooked. Are you guys still using a hose for the wheels and tires?
And what are you guys using for a presoak? ONR diluted to a quick detailer?

I'm hooked too. I figure as long as i maintain a proper coat of sealant or wax the chances of swirls are no more greater than a traditional wash. Just wanted to be a little more cautious now that i got a new ride and ask for opinions.

For wheels, what i do and a lot of others do is wash the exterior paint first then use the remaining liquid along with your well used microfiber towels and wheel woolies to clean your wheels.

I'm glad I read this topic. I bought a new car only to realize our apartment doesn't have a hose spigot. This gives me hope!

I plan on going to a coin op, hosing the car down then washing the wheels and tires with my brushes and cleaner, then hosing those off and re-wetting the car before coming home and using ONR. It's less than a mile away so hopefully it won't dry too much.

That's a good idea too, but what about the wheel wells? Do you feel they get clean enough? Without getting the towels too dirty? The wheel wells are the main reason I want to use the coin op before doing the rinseless wash.

Try it in the wheel wells! I think it works especially well on the plastic and painted surfaces of a wheel well. But just like the exterior paint of your vehicle, if its too dirty i would prefer a traditional wash.

Every once in a while though i like to do a traditional wash "just because". There's just an unexplainable feeling i get when i wash the car with water and foamy soap and getting it in all the cracks and crevices that a simple wipe with rinseless wash and a microfiber won't get to.

I know that feeling and I can't have it because of where we live lol.

A member on here said I may be able to use his hose though. Like you said just a once in a while thing just because I enjoy it. I am looking forward to trying the rinseless wash though.

Live in nyc apartment, clean while parked.100% ONR on soft black metallic paint, no problems. If I feel car is extra dirty pre soak panels or bump up solution up to 2oz. But I do still like hosing off with my portable hose before washing and use 2 bucket. If wheels arent really dirty use remaining ONR from bucket for wheels but generally always use powerclean on wheels and tires since ONR isnt designed to do heavy duty work like an APC or dedicated wheel/tire cleaner.
