Anyone have any really strange detailing calls or requests?

Just this email so far.

Hello, Do you paint cars? Im looking for an economy paint job for a small toyota paseo. I live in new paltz so gardiner is close by.

Some kind of sanding w/ rustoleam paint job will do for me its an old car but could look far better.

I responded saying I didn't do re paints and suggested some local shops.

I actually have a funeral home account and do their hearse on a regular basis.

Why were you freaked out to go where the DEAD bodies go? My wife is the same way. She won't have anything to do with death stuff. She hates graveyards and was losing her mind when we went back to upstate New York with all the old graveyards.

I like the idea of cleaning headstones. It actaully isnt a bad idea and would be super easy. Might have to look into that.

I worked at a funeral home in college and was hired to detail the limos, hearses, and lead cars. It's a big deal for business for those to be spotless. It's how I got my itch into detailing! It was my first experience with Meguiars 7 and collinite 845 :). I must say looking back I was quite the hack!

Ps after 2 months I was dressing bodies, driving the hearse, and preparing coffins soooooo yeah I've seen it all, talk about wild stories...I could give quite a few.

Perhaps in the off topic section?… :poke: :D

I think someone here did a suicide car before. I don't think I could do something like that.

client: is this car wash?
me: i detail cars
client: i have a black car that i polished and i need you to pressure washer the white polish , the car was sitting in the sun and it dry on it.
me: i do not own a pressure washer :)) (at that time i didn`t have the van and the set-up), what`s your budget?
client: $10 ?!
me: hmmm
client: $20 ??!
me: without a $100 i don`t even come out to see the car.

after that i just give him some instructions "how to"

Haha, made me giggle. I know plenty of people like that.

Funny you say this, just did a hearse for the first time today. Pretty interesting, owner of funeral home is a family friend, so I think I've landed this account with a fleet of about 6 cars. Pretty good gig!!

I had a guy call me yesterday that had a fire extinguisher explode in his work truck, I get to clean up this disaster next week. I forgot to ask him how the heck you get a fire extinguisher to explode
