As the title states, anyone know the active ingredient in Chemical Guys Citrus Wash n Gloss?

All I could find is that it is a natural citrus extract. But I would like to know what it is.

The reason is, I have a gallon, and I just started discovering other uses. I take a capful and mix it with 28 ounces distilled water in a spray bottle, and now I have an all purpose cleaner.

I cleaned my glass desk, my bathroom, my mirror, my kitchen... it worked extremely well!

It sprayed out a little soapy, just used a towel to spread it out and clean, then used another paper towel to dry. Gloss was everywhere :dblthumb2:

Now I'm thinking I could use it to clean my hands and whatnot, so before I do something like that, I would like to know what the active ingredient is to make sure it isn't actually bad for me or my skin!

Thanks!

Reminds me of the old Saturday Night Live skit:

"It's a floor wax!
No, it's a dessert topping!
Wait, it's both!"

Lol, this stuff is proving to be very versatile. I encourage anyone who has some to go and try it!

I did try spraying it on a carpet stain, but to no avail. I guess it will just have to do as an amazing LSP stripper, car wash, tile cleaner, mirror cleaner, glass cleaner, cabinet cleaner, hand soap.... and did I mention I took black marks out of my drywall paint in my bedroom with this? LMAO!

I believe the active ingredient is DETERGENT. That kind of explains why it is so versatile at cleaning things.

AND:

The NO. 1 active ingredient in car-wash shampoos/wash 'n' gloss-(es) "detergents"...Water

Some of these "detergents", then, may have (among many others) some of these active ingredients:

Sodium/Ammonium Laureth Sulfate; Cocamidopropyl Betaine; Cocamide DEA/MEA; Sodium/Disodium Phosphate;
Glycerin; Sodium Chloride; Perfume/Fragrance.

Just curious...Have you requested the MSDS for this CG product?

(P&G will provide Dawn's/Joy's MSDS upon request.)

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a MSDS?

Material Safety Data Sheet. Describes the useage and handling of products, very common in manufacturing companies to have these so you know what to due or use in case of an accident.

I thought the active ingredient was Tropicana Orange Juice w/ some Pulp

Thanks! Do you know do I go about asking for one? Do I just call them and say can I get the MSDS for the product? or is there a specific process involved lol

Easiest to just call them. The folks at CG are very easy to work with, I've been to the main store in IngleWatts and one in Northern San Diego and was always treated very nicely at both.

And even a 'detailing business': "must-have"...for the proprietor, business' employees, and, when the inspectors come a-nosing around!

It's amazing with a little ingenuity and courage you can discover a multitude of uses with many of these products.....:props:

PS.... I will not be the tester for the jock itch......:poke:

Absolutely. I'd go even further and say anywhere where you are using chemicals in a licensed and insured business you would need one if you'd like to keep your licenses and insurance. We have them on almost every wall in the plants at work, unfortunately the plant workers uses them for paper plates at lunch so most can't be read or are incomplete.

I'm glad my wife was not behind me when I viewed this. She already has taken some of my Leather Conditioner, microfiber towels and Stoners Invisible Glass.
